  • the system selects particular audio/video content of a first genre (e.g., action, adventure, documentary, or talk show video content, or rock, classical, country, or jazz music content) when the probable activity type is indicative of relatively high physical activity, and selects particular audio/video content of a second genre when the probable activity type is indicative of relatively low physical activity.

  • This scheme can be carried out if the set-top box device itself is web-enabled. This scheme allows much of the database-intensive processing to be offloaded from the set-top box device, and allows the system to leverage existing technologies that might be available via online services or websites (e.g., Internet radio services, web-based jukebox technologies, etc.). Use of network-based resources in this manner is desirable when dealing with extremely large libraries of content such as digital music, which might require significant database management capabilities.

Abstract

L'invention porte sur un système de fourniture d'un contenu audio/vidéo à un utilisateur. Le système comprend un dispositif de boîte numérique configuré pour fournir un contenu audio/vidéo à un dispositif de présentation, et au moins un capteur couplé en communication au dispositif de boîte numérique, le ou les capteurs étant configurés pour fournir des données de capteur au dispositif de boîte numérique. Le système comprend également un module de traitement de données de capteur configuré pour traiter les données de capteur afin de déterminer un type d'activité probable de l'utilisateur, et un dispositif de commande couplé au module de traitement de données de capteur. Le dispositif de commande est configuré pour sélectionner un contenu audio/vidéo particulier pour une lecture au niveau du dispositif de présentation, le contenu audio/vidéo particulier étant influencé par le type d'activité probable. L'invention porte également sur les procédés de fonctionnement associés.
