Abstract

인터 예측 프레임 생성장치 및 그 생성방법, 및 거기에 이용되는 참조 프레임 보간장치 및 그 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명에 따른 참조 프레임 보간장치는, 참조 프레임을 쿼터 픽셀 단위로 보간하는 보간장치에 있어서, 하프 픽셀 단위의 좌 대각선 및 우 대각선의 교차점에 위치한 쿼터 픽셀의 주변에 위치한 픽셀들에 기초하여, 쿼터 픽셀에 대한 방향성을 결정하는 방향성 결정부; 및 방향성 결정부에 의해 결정된 방향성에 따라 선형보간법을 다르게 적용하여 쿼터 픽셀에 대한 픽셀 값을 보간하는 보간 처리부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
