Definitions
- the present invention relates to one of the main elements of a beach umbrella such as the stick that supports it.
- the umbrella itself is an umbrella of normal characteristics in terms of its design of form and opening and closing procedure.
- the support stick is of very special characteristics since, thanks to the idea of this invention, it is capable of being introduced into the sand of the beach with a minimum effort that can be executed by anyone regardless of their age or physical training.
- the umbrella stick is inserted into the sand at sufficient depth so that it is firmly attached to the ground without danger of overturning or untimely movements due to gusts of wind or any other cause.
- the invention presented affects the Sector of Current Needs of life and specifically the chapter on Objects for personal use. It also affects the Sector of Various Industrial Techniques, directly affecting the beach and articles manufacturing industry.
- the present invention relates to a new umbrella stick, of which they are usually used on the beaches, which has the peculiarity that it can be introduced into the sand of the beach with minimal effort, that is, that the nailing operation It can be executed by anyone regardless of their age or physical condition.
- the stick is constituted by a metallic tube of light material or plastic of adequate resistance, of an approximate length of one meter and an external diameter of about three centimeters, although these dimensions are orientative and have nothing to do with the principle of invention.
- the upper part of the stick is cut along a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tube that forms it and the lower part, that is to say the part destined to be introduced into the sand, is slightly sharpened to facilitate driving.
- the one at the top is also cut along a plane perpendicular to its longitudinal axis and the one at the bottom is completely closed by a glued or welded metal plug, or alternatively by a rubber, silicone or similar material plug.
- suction tube when moving longitudinally on the main tube, functions as a real blow or suction piston when the assembly is introduced into any fluid.
- the objective of the invention is to take advantage of only the suction effect on a special "fluid” such as beach sand.
- a special "fluid” such as beach sand.
- FIG. 3 (a) This figure represents the process of driving in the sand of the sucking umbrella stick.
- Three phases of the process are indicated in Figures 3 (a), 3 (b) and 3 (c).
- 3 (a) the beginning of the drilling operation is shown seeing that the sharp section (2.1) of the main tube (2) has been introduced slightly into the sand as a result of the force Fl applied on the assembly (1).
- Suction sunshade stick (1) (Figs. 1, 2 and 3) consisting of a support for beach umbrellas designed to be stuck in the sand, deep enough to resist the effects of the wind, with a minimum effort executable by anyone which, in a preferred embodiment by the inventor, is composed of a main tube (2) of cross-section in the form of a circular crown and a suction tube (3) whose cross-section is also a circular crown, with the particularity of that the outer diameter of the suction tube (3) is substantially equal to the inner diameter of the main tube (2) such that longitudinal displacement of one tube with respect to the other is possible because there is a slight clearance between them.
- the main tube (2) is open at its two ends, the lower end presenting a sharp section (2.1) that facilitates its insertion into the sandy ground existing in traditional beaches.
- the suction tube (3) is open at its top, since it is the one that should receive the umbrella stick (4) itself; on said upper edge a handle (3.1) is attached to facilitate handling of the assembly (1) at the time of driving. This handle also has protrusions that will act as a hanger for light clothes.
- the suction umbrella stick (1) at the time of transport and first use, has the suction tube (3) fully inserted in the main tube (2) with the handle (3.1) butting with the end upper of the main tube or being very close to said edge (Fig. 3 a) being able to dive slightly into the sand in a first phase as shown in (Fig. 3a) by applying a downward force Fl.
- a second driving phase represented in (Fig.3b) and, (Fig.3c)
- the user with one of his hands on the handle (3.1) pulls up with force F2 while holding the main tube (2) with the other hand applying on it, downwards, a force Fl.
- This actuation process causes a suction and flow of the sand (5) into the main tube (2) as a result of the "piston effect" caused by the relative movement of the suction tube (3) with its plug (3.1) by the inside of the main tube (2).
- the main tube (2) can be easily moved down occupying the empty space generated by the sucked sand.
- the material in which the tubes are manufactured can be any, either metallic or plastic, although preferably a light material will be chosen to facilitate the transport of the assembly.
- the material of the cap may be rubber, polyamide, silicone or the like.
- the inventor also conceives the possibility that the main tube is provided with another handle equipped with several hangers for hanging light clothes on them. It is not considered necessary to make the content of this description more extensive so that a person skilled in the art can understand its scope and the advantages derived from the invention, as well as develop and put into practice the object thereof.
