Description
Bicycle transmission system
The subject of the invention is an enclosed bicycle power transmission system with a rear wheel mount mechanism.
A bicycle hub with a bilateral transmission system with two rolling bearing cups is known from the description of a utility model PL 59223 U and are characterized by the fact that the left cup has a left-hand thread on its working surface; the left-hand thread notches with the bearing surface at the diameter fault, and the outer diameters of the cup casing are the same as the right cup casing.
From description of the patent application PL 284 863 known are the bicycle and the bicycle wheel, particularly eccentric, containing the outer and inner rim interconnected by a series of spokes. The wheel hub is mounted in the sleeve with a short tube. The position of the guide plate with a threaded hole is fixed relative to the inner rim. The inner rim comprises a second threaded hole. The pin is coupled to the threaded holes. One end of the pin is pivotally mounted inside the short tube, the rotation of the knob provides relative motion between the pin and the guide plates to determine the eccentric position of the hub.
The essence of the solution is that the bicycle transmission system comprises a disengaging coupling driving element of which is placed in the bicycle frame and the driven element is placed in the bicycle wheel. The fiame and wheel are two separate assemblies. The wheel is mounted to the fiame with the assembling axle, which is the third component of the system.
After assembling said components, a fastening is formed which blocks the mutual rotation of the driving element of the coupling and the driven element of the coupling, which allows torque to be transferred from the frame to the wheel, and at the same time the assembling axle stabilizes the wheel in the bicycle frame.
The driving element of the coupling is connected to the driven element of the coupling either directly or via a connector, which transfers the torque of power transmission system from the coupling driving element to the driven element.
The connector may be present as a separate subcomponent of the system, e.g. assembling axle or constitute one of the parts in the frame subcomponent or the wheel subcomponent.
The assembling axle is stabilized in the f ame by a locking mechanism consisting of a blocking which stabilizes the axle in one of the frame hooks, a quick release lock on the opposite
side of the axle and pins connecting the quick release lock with the blocking. In the closed position of quick release axle, the lever is stabilized in the axle plug by pushing in and rotation axes of the mandrels are contained in one plane, which prevents self-opening of the locking mechanism.
The system is also equipped with a unidirectional clutch (freewheel), which can be placed in the frame, wheel or the connector.
The system comprises a gearshift system placed in the bicycle frame.
The axle bracket and output gear of the gearshift mechanism are located coaxially and move towards each other with a variable angular velocity ratio, depending on the gear used.
The power transmission system with the chain are placed inside the bicycle frame, which provides the transmission system with insulation from external factors.
Inside the frame there is oil that lubricates the chain automatically. The hub, the assembling axle and the freewheel are placed coaxially. The location of the wheel is set eccentrically, which enables the wearing chain to be tightened.
Such a system provides insulation of the power transmission system elements from external factors and is reliable, durable and easy to use and the use of an assembling axle with a quick release mechanism allows quick and easy assembly and disassembly of the wheel in the frame, which is advantageous especially in case of performance sports.

In order to attach the wheel to the bicycle frame 22, a hub 10 is placed coaxially to the freewheel 31 between the left hook 2 and the right hook 1 and then the assembled assembling axle 20 in an open position is slid and after which the assembling axle 20 is stabilized by setting the lever 16 in a closed position and by sliding the lever 16 into the axle plug 14.
In closed position of quick release axle, the lever is stabilized by pushing in and the rotation axes of mandrels 34, 33 and 19 are contained in one plane which prevents self-opening of the locking mechanism.
