Abstract
The present invention relates to a real-time data transmission control system and a control method thereof, and more specifically, to a system and a control method for controlling the size of data per second in a multimedia stream transmitted according to the state of a varied communication network. The system comprises: an interface unit which receives an image signal from an external image acquisition device; an encoding unit which encodes the received image signal on the basis of a plurality of encoding parameters; a communication unit which transmits the encoded image signal to an external device through the communication network; and a controller which confirms the communication environment of the communication network, and performs at least one control operation among first and second control operations so that the data size of the transmitted image signal which has been encoded may be adjusted in real time according to the confirmed communication environment, wherein the first control operation controls the encoding unit by controlling at least one of the plurality of encoding parameters, and the second control operation controls the communication unit by controlling the number of frames that constitute the transmitted image signal which has been encoded, so that some of the frames that constitute the encoded image signal may be transmitted to the external device.
