Abstract

A tape measure includes a housing defining an interior shape and a tape outlet opening and a flexible tape having measuring indicia displayed thereon. The flexible tape is movable between a retracted position in which the flexible tape is substantially disposed within the interior of the housing and an extended position in which at least a portion of the flexible tape extends linearly outside the housing through the tape outlet opening. The flexible tape includes an inner end portion secured within the interior of the housing and a distal end portion. The distal end portion of the flexible tape includes a transparent section to allow a measurement line to be read through the iape during a plumbing process. The transparent section allows a measurement line, such as a laser line, to shine through the tape during a plumbing process.
