Description

고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치 및 방법
본 발명은 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 특히 고용량의 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
무선 통신 시스템은 음성 통신을 위주로 하는 시스템에서 점차 발전하여 고용량의 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 형태로 발전하였다. 이러한 고용량의 데이터는 텍스트, 사진, 영상 등의 다양한 형태의 고용량 데이터 뿐 아니라 멀티미디어 데이터까지 전송할 수 있게 되었다.
한편, 다양한 고용량 멀티미디어 서비스가 활성화 되는 것에 비하여 무선 통신 시스템의 성능은 높지 않다. 또한 다중 사용자들이 무선 자원을 공유하므로 사용자들이 체감하는 무선 서비스의 전송 속도는 현저히 낮아진다. 때문에 대역폭을 증가하여 다중 사용자가 공유하는 무선 자원을 확대하거나 또는 동일한 대역폭의 무선 자원을 각 사용자와의 통신에 특정 빔(beam)을 사용함으로써 다중 사용자에 대한 무선 시스템의 성능을 높이고자 하는 다양한 기술들이 연구되고 있다.
이러한 무선 통신 시스템의 발전 방향과 같이 IEEE 802.11의 작업그룹 AC에서는 고속의 무선통신 시스템을 구성을 위해서는 1개의 AP와 2개의 단말로 구성되는 3개의 다중 단말(multi-station)에서 접속점(Access Point, 이하 AP)의 MAC SAP에서 최대 1Gbps의 성능을 지원해야 하며, point-to-point 환경을 위한 무선 단말(station)의 MAC SAP에서 최대 500Mbps가 요구된다고 정의한다.
또한 각 AP와 STA들은 동시에 기존의 무선 랜 시스템(IEEE 802.11a/n 시스템)과의 호환을 지원할 수 있다는 특징을 고성능의 무선 통신 시스템의 요구사항으로 제안하고 있다.
그러나 이러한 요구사항에 대하여 명확히 어떠한 방식으로 고속의 기술들을 지원해야 하는지에 대한 서비스 구조 및 무선 서비스 제공 방안 등이 구체적으로 정의되어 있지 않다는 문제점이 있다.
따라서 본 발명에서는 IEEE 802.11의 작업그룹 AC에서 요구하는 사항을 만족할 수 있는 데이터 서비스 제공 장치 및 방법을 제공한다.
또한 본 발명에서는 고성능의 무선 통신 시스템에 요구되는 사항들을 만족하기 위하여 대역폭을 확장하여 무선 자원을 증대하여 데이터 서비스를 제공하기 위한 장치 및 방법을 제공한다.
또한 본 발명에서는 동일한 대역폭에서 다중 사용자 다중 안테나(Multi-user MIMO) 기술을 지원함으로써 무선 자원의 성능을 높일 수 있는 무선 서비스 구조, 서비스의 실시 예, 그리고 이러한 서비스를 지원할 수 있는 방법 및 장치를 제공한다.
본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 방법은, 다중 안테나를 사용하여 다중 사용자와 통신을 하기 위한 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법으로서, 미리 결정된 중심 주파수에 하나 이상의 대역을 서로 다른 단말에 할당하는 과정과, 상기 다중 안테나를 이용하여 상기 각 단말에 할당된 중심 주파수의 각 대역을 통해 통신하는 과정을 포함한다.
또한 상기 각 중심 주파수가 둘 이상인 경우 서로 다른 중심 주파수의 각 대역은, 상호간 모두 불연속된 대역일 수 있다.
또한 상기 각 중심 주파수가 둘 이상인 경우 상기 각 중심 주파수에 포함되는 대역들은 상호 대역간 연속된 대역일 수 있다.
또한 상기 하나의 대역에서 동시에 할당 가능한 단말은 최대 2개일 수 있다.
또한 상기 통신 과정은, 미리 결정된 제1시간 구간 동안 하향 링크 통신을 수행하며, 미리 결정된 제2시간 구간 동안 대역 할당이 경쟁 기반으로 이루어지는 상향 링크 통신을 수행할 수 있다.
이때, 상기 제1시간 구간은, 시작 프레임에 의해 시작 시점이 결정되며, 미리 설정된 파라미터에 의해 상기 제1시간 구간 동안 데이터 보호를 하며, 상기 파라미터 해지를 위한 프레임의 전송에 의해 종료될 수 있으며,
상기 제1시간 구간은, 모든 단말들과 상기 모든 대역에서 시간 동기를 맞춰 통신할 수 있고,
상기 제2시간 구간은, 상기 단말들과 각 대역에서 시간 동기를 맞추지 않고 통신할 수도 있고, 상기 모든 대역에서 시간 동기를 맞춰 통신할 수도 있다.
또한 상기 제2시간 구간 내에서 상기 단말들과 동기를 맞춰 통신하는 제3시간 구간을 더 포함할 수 있으며,
상기 제2시간 구간 동안 상향링크로 전송되는 데이터는, 데이터 프레임, 관리 프레임, 제어 프레임 중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
또한 상기 제2시간 구간 동안 하향링크로 전송되는 데이터는, 응답 프레임, 데이터 프레임 중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
또한 상기 고용량 무선 통신 시스템과 호환 가능한 제2단말로부터 연결 요청이 존재할 시 유휴 무선 대역의 존재 여부를 검사하는 과정과, 우휴 무선 대역이 존재할 시 상기 제2단말에 유휴 대역폭을 할당하여 통신하는 과정을 더 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 장치는, 다중 안테나를 사용하여 다중 사용자와 통신을 하기 위한 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 MAC 계층 장치로, 상기 MAC 계층의 상위 계층으로부터 단말로 제공할 데이터와 사용자의 우선 순위 및 접속점에 대한 접속번호를 수신하고, 접속점에 대한 채널 상태 정보를 이용하여 상기 단말로 제공할 데이터를 접속점별로 매핑하는 상위 매퍼부와, 상기 상위 매버부에서 매핑된 데이터를 각 접속점에 대한 채널 상태 정보를 이용하여 카테고리별로 다시 매핑하는 하위 매퍼부를 포함하며,
보다 바람직하게는, 상기 상위 매퍼부와 상기 하위 매퍼부간 전달되는 데이터를 버퍼링하는 접속점 단위 큐를 더 포함할 수 있다.
또한 상기 접속접 단위 큐는 각 접속점 별로 구분된 다수의 큐들을 포함할 수 있다.
또한 상기 하위 매버부에서 매핑된 데이터를 물리계층으로 전달하기 위해 버퍼링하는 메모리부를 더 포함할 수 있다.
또한 각 접속점별로 구분된 접속 카테고리들을 위한 다수의 큐들을 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 구성에 따르면, 성능이 제한되는 기존의 무선 통신 시스템에서 다중 채널을 독립적으로 관리하며 동시에 각 채널에서 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템을 적용할 수 있기 때문에 각기 사용자에게 지원되는 무선 서비스 성능을 개선시킬 수 있다. 또한 기존의 전력관리 기능 및 호환을 위한 기능 등을 적용하기에 용이한 구조를 갖고 있다.
이와 함께 대역폭 확장 및 다중 사용자 지원을 위한 다중 안테나 기술을 서비스에 따라서 동적으로 구성할 수 있으므로 보다 자유로운 무선망의 구성에 따른 다양한 서비스 지원 및 성능 개선 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

이하 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 본 발명을 설명한다. 본 발명을 설명함에 있어 당업자에게 자명한 부분에 대하여는 본 발명의 요지를 흩뜨리지 않도록 생략하기로 한다. 또한 이하에서 설명되는 각 용어들은 본 발명의 이해를 돕기 위해 사용된 것일 뿐이며, 각 제조 회사 또는 연구 그룹에서는 동일한 용도임에도 불구하고 서로 다른 용어로 사용될 수 있음에 유의해야 한다.
본 발명은 다양한 고속의 무선통신 시스템 중에서 IEEE 802.11에서 정의하는 무선 통신 시스템을 기반으로 다중 채널을 이용하고 각 채널에서 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템을 사용하는 무선 통신 시스템을 제공한다. 이하에서 설명되는 본 발명의 무선 통신 시스템 구조는 다중 채널을 사용함으로써 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템에서 지원되는 무선 랜 환경을 모두 제공할 수 있다. 따라서 본 발명에서 제안하는 무선 통신 시스템을 기반으로 다양한 고속의 무선 서비스를 제공할 수 있다.
고속의 무선 통신을 지원하며, 기존의 IEEE 802.11 시스템과 호환하기 위하여 본 발명에서는 IEEE 802.11에서 최소 단위로 제안하고 있는 20MHz 대역폭을 기준으로 한다. 고용량 무선 랜에서는 이보다 큰 단위의 대역폭을 기본 대역폭 단위로 포함할 수 있으며, 20MHz를 갖는 기존 무선 랜 장비와의 호환성 지원을 위하여 20MHz 단위의 동작을 지원할 수 있어야 한다. 다시 구체적으로 설명하면 본 발명에서는 최소 단위로 20MHz의 대역폭을 기준으로 하지만 고속 통신을 위하여 상기 20MHz 보다 큰 단위의 기본 대역폭으로 40MHz, 60MHz, 또는 80MHz를 포함 할 수 있다. 또한 본 발명에서는 최소 20MHz 대역폭 이상의 기본 대역폭 단위로 다중 무선 채널을 관리하며, 이에 대하여 후술할 것이다.
본 발명에서 각 무선 채널은 기본적으로 각기 독립적으로 운용될 수 있으며 서비스의 종류나 기본 서비스 구성(Basic Service Set)의 필요에 따라서 시간 동기(timing synchronization)에 맞게 동작할 수 있다. 또한 본 발명에 따른 각 무선 채널은 높은 수준의 자유도를 지원하다. 따라서 서비스에 따라 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 기술 등을 이용하여 무선 자원을 보다 효율적으로 사용할 수 있다. 즉, 다중 채널을 지원하는 특성과 다중 사용자에 대한 무선 통신 기술을 보다 적절하게 사용함으로써 고성능의 무선 시스템을 제공하고, 이를 통해 다양한 서비스를 용이하게 지원할 수 있다.
또한 본 발명에서는 고속의 무선 통신을 제공함과 동시에 전력 관리(Power Management), 중첩된 서비스 관리(Overlapping BSS management) 및 기존 단말과의 동작(Coexistence) 등에 대하여 설명할 것이다. 이러한 내용들은 모두 기존 무선 랜 서비스(IEEE 802.11a/n)를 지원하며, 호환이 가능하고, 보다 개선된 서비스를 지원하는 내용이 개시된다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 20MHz 다중 채널로 구성된 고용량 BSS의 기본 서비스 구성도이다.
먼저 본 발명에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 기본 서비스 구성(VHT Basic Service Set, 이하 “VHT BSS”라 함)을 도 1에서는 참조부호 110, 120, 130 및 140으로 분할하여 설명할 것이다. 도 1에서 기지국(Access Point, 이하 "AP"라 함)(101)은 하나의 기지국으로, 설명의 편의를 위해 참조부호 110 ~ 140과 같이 분할하여 도시하였음에 유의해야 한다. 즉, 도 1의 참조부호 110 내지 140에 도시한 AP(101)는 하나의 AP이며, 각 중심 주파수에서의 동작 설명을 위해 4개의 분할된 부분으로 구분한 것임에 유의해야 한다.
참조부호 110 ~ 140에 도시한 예에서는 하나의 중심 주파수 예를 들어 f1, f2, f3, f4 각각은 모두 최소 20MHz의 대역을 가지며, 최대 80MHz의 대역폭을 넘지 않는 다중 채널들을 갖는다. 이는 IEEE 802.11에서 요구되는 호환성을 위한 기준이므로, 다른 시스템에 적용되는 경우라면 대역폭이 변경될 수 있음에 유의해야 한다. 또한 참조부호 110 ~ 140에 도시한 바와 같이 AP(101)는 상기한 각각의 중심 주파수들에서 위에 설명한 대역을 갖는 두 개의 다중 채널(multi-channel)을 기본적으로 제공할 수 있다. 또한 AP(101)는 다중 채널들을 갖는 각각의 중심 주파수에서 다중 사용자를 지원하기 위한 다중 안테나(Multi-user MIMO) 기술을 포함한다.
따라서 참조부호 110 내지 140에 도시한 바와 같이 도 1의 실시 예에서는 각각의 중심 주파수들(f1, f2, f3, f4)마다 2개의 서로 다른 채널들 즉, 다중 채널들을 갖는다. 이때 하나의 중심 주파수에 포함되는 채널들은 각각 20MHz를 기준으로 하며, 각 채널들이 각각 서로 다른 사용자들이 할당될 수 있다. 따라서 각 중심 주파수의 대역마다 2개의 다중 채널을 가지므로, 각 중심 주파수의 대역마다 2명의 사용자에게 채널을 동시에 할당하여 데이터 서비스를 지원할 수 있다.
결과적으로 실제 AP(101)는 참조부호 150에 도시한 바와 같이 4개의 서로 다른 중심 주파수들의 대역을 이용하여 통신하게 된다. 또한 AP(101)은 각 중심 주파수의 대역마다 서로 다른 2개의 다중 채널을 지원할 수 있으며, 하나의 중심 주파수의 대역마다 2명의 사용자에게 동시에 제공할 수 있다. IEEE 802.11 시스템에서는 동시에 2명의 사용자에게 동시에 채널이 할당될 수 있으므로, 한 사용자에게 서로 다른 4개의 중심 주파수를 갖는 다중 채널을 통해 데이터를 제공할 수 있다. 하지만 IEEE 802.11 시스템에서 보다 많은 사용자들이 동시에 접속하도록 하는 경우라면 도 1의 예를 확장하여 응용할 수도 있다. 이에 대한 사항은 당업자라면 위의 내용으로부터 용이하게 확장할 수 있으므로, 더 설명하지 않기로 한다.
이상에서 살핀 바와 같이 하나의 중심 주파수에서 서로 다른 2명의 사용자에게 대역폭을 할당할 수 있으므로, 이하의 설명에서 각각의 중심 주파수를 다중 채널이라 칭하기로 한다.
이상에서 설명한 다중 채널은 보다 확장하면 연속적(contiguous)이거나 또는 비연속적(non-contiguous)인 대역폭에서 모두 지원될 수 있다. 그러면 이러한 각각의 다중 채널들(f1~f4)을 첨부된 도 2를 참조하여 살펴보기로 한다.
도 2는 본 발명의 실시 예에 따라 다중 채널의 구성하는 예를 도시한 도면이다.
도 2에서는 각 다중 채널들을 구성하는 예를 4가지 경우로 구분하여 도시하였다. 도 2의 (a)에 도시한 방법에 대하여 간략히 살펴보기로 한다. 도 2의 (a)에 도시한 방법에서는 각각의 중심 주파수들의 대역이 모두 불연속적(non-contiguous)으로 구성되는 예이다. 즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)(201), 제4중심 주파수(f4)(202), 제2중심 주파수(f2)(203), 제3중심 주파수(f3)(204)에서 각의 대역들이 모두 불연속적(non-contiguous)으로 구성될 수 있음을 도시하고 있다. 즉, 도 2의 (a)의 예는 앞에서 설명한 도 1의 구성과 같은 경우로 볼 수 있다.
도 2의 (b)에 도시한 방법에서는 일부의 중심 주파수를 갖는 대역은 연속적(contiguous)으로 구성되며, 다른 일부의 중심 주파수를 갖는 대역들은 불연속적으로 구성된 하나의 예이다. 즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)(211)는 낮은 대역(f(1,lower))과 높은 대역(f(1,upper))이 연속적(contiguous)인 대역이 구성된다. 그리고 제2중심 주파수(f2)(212) 및 제3중심 주파수(f3)(213)의 각 대역들은 상호간 불연속적(non-contiguous)으로 구성된 경우를 예시하고 있다.
도 2의 (c)에 도시한 방법에서는 서로 다른 2개의 중심 주파수들에서의 예이다. 도 2의 (c)에 도시한 예에서는 각각의 중심 주파수에서 2개의 대역이 연속적(contiguous)으로 구성된 예를 도시하였다. 즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)(221)의 낮은 대역(f(1,lower))과 높은 대역(f(1,upper))이 연속적(contiguous)으로 구성되며, 제2중심 주파수(f2)(222)의 낮은 대역(f(2,lower))과 높은 대역(f(2,upper))은 연속적(contiguous)으로 구성된다. 또한 도 2의 (c)에 도시한 바와 같이 제1중심 주파수(f1)(221)와 제2중심 주파수(f2)간은 서로 불연속(noe-contiguous)됨을 알 수 있다.
도 2의 (d)는 하나의 중심 주파수 즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)(231)에서 모든 대역이 연속적(contiguous)으로 구성된 예를 도시하였다. 즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)(231)의 낮은 제2대역(f(1, sec lower))과 낮은 제1대역(f(1, lower))과 높은 제1대역(f(1, upper))과 높은 제2대역(f(1, sec upper))이 연속적으로 구성된다. 그러므로 하나의 중심 주파수에서 모든 대역들이 연속적(contiguous)으로 구성될 수 있다.
이상의 예에서 알 수 있는 바와 같이 대역을 어떻게 구성하는가에 따라 다중 채널의 대역들을 연속적으로 또는 불연속적으로 구성할 수 있다.
도 3은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따라 동기가 맞는 다중 채널을 포함하는 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 기본 서비스 구성도이다. 도 3에 도시한 예는 IEEE 802.11 ac 시스템에 적용되는 경우 각각의 대역폭은 20MHz와 40MHz로 구성되는 경우이며, 도 2의 (b)에 해당하는 형태가 된다. 그러면 이를 이하에서 좀 더 상세히 살펴보기로 한다.
도 3에서 AP(101)은 도 1에서 설명한 바와 동일한 AP이므로 동일한 참조부호를 사용하였음에 유의하기로 하자.
도 3에서도 도 1과 동일하게 하나의 AP(101)에서의 동작을 구분하여 설명하기 위해 참조부호 301, 302 및 303으로 도시하였다. 도 3에서 참조부호 301, 302는 도 1의 참조부호 110, 120에 대응한다. 즉, 도 3의 참조부호 301은 도 2의 (b)에 도시한 참조부호 213의 제3중심 주파수(f3)를 갖는 대역에 해당한다. 또한 도 3의 참조부호 302는 도 2의 (b)에 도시한 참조부호 212의 제2중심 주파수(f2)를 갖는 대역에 해당한다.
또한 도 2의 제2중심 주파수(f2) 및 제3중심 주파수(f3)의 대역들은 도 2의 (b)에 대응하게 되므로 IEEE 802.11 시스템에서는 20Mhz의 대역을 가지며, 각 중심 주파수의 대역들을 2명의 사용자에게 할당할 수 있다.
참조부호 303의 AP(101)은 제1중심 주파수(f1)에서 낮은 대역(f(1, lower))과 높은 대역(f(1, upper))을 갖는 경우이다. 즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)에서 연속적(contiguous)으로 낮은 대역과 높은 대역을 갖게 된다. 제1중심 주파수의 전체 대역은 IEEE 802.11 시스템인 경우 40MHz의 대역을 갖는 하나의 다중 채널이 될 수 있다.
이러한 구성들이 결과적으로 참조부호 311의 AP(101)의 형태로 다중 채널을 구성하게 된다. 즉, 다중 채널은 모두 4개이며, 제2중심 주파수(f2)와 제3중심 주파수(f3)의 각 대역들은 독립적인 무선 채널이 된다. 또한 제1중심 주파수(f1)에 높은(upper) 대역의 채널과 낮은(lower) 대역의 채널이 존재한다. 결국 VHT BSS의 구성은 도 3의 참조부호 311의 그림에서와 같이 구성되며 제1중심 주파수(f1)에 높은(upper) 대역의 채널과 낮은(lower) 대역의 채널에서도 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템 기술은 적용될 수 있다.
이상에서 설명된 내용으로부터 볼 때 본 발명이 제안하는 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 기본 서비스 구조는 연속적(contiguous)이거나 또는 비연속적(non-contiguous)인 대역폭을 가짐을 알 수 있다. 또한 본 발명에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 기본 서비스 구조는 시간 및 데이터 송수신의 동기(synchronous) 특징 또는 비동기(asynchronous) 특징을 모두 포함하고 있다. 이에 대하여는 후술하기로 한다.
또한 상기 도 2의 실시 예에서 포함하는 각 중심 주파수의 실시 예(f1~f4)에서 1~4의 숫자에 따라 반드시 도면에 도시한 것과 같이 특정 순서 및 위치를 갖는 것이 아니며, 단지 구분을 위해 사용한 것이다. 따라서 숫자는 자유로운 순서 및 값들을 가질 수 있다. 예를 들어 중심 주파수 f1이 f2와 f3 사이에 위치할 수도 있다. 따라서 중심 주파수의 숫자가 주파수들의 순서 또는 특정한 주파수 값을 결정하지 않는다.
도 4는 본 발명의 다른 실시 예에 따라 동기가 맞는 다중 채널을 포함하는 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 기본 서비스 구성도이다. 도 4에 도시한 예는 IEEE 802.11 ac 시스템에 적용되는 경우 대역폭은 40MHz로 구성되는 경우이며, 도 2의 (c)에 해당하는 형태가 된다. 그러면 이를 이하에서 좀 더 상세히 살펴보기로 한다.
도 4에서도 AP(101)는 도 1과 동일한 AP이므로, 동일한 참조부호를 사용하고 있다. 참조부호 410과 참조부호 420은 앞에서 설명한 바와 같이 하나의 AP(101)에서 동작 설명의 편의를 위해 구분하여 도시한 것이며, 두 동작이 결합된 형태가 참조부호 430이 된다.
그럼 참조부호 410과 참조부호 420에 대하여 살펴보기로 한다. AP(101)은 제1중심 주파수(f1)의 낮은 대역(f(1, lower))과 높은 대역(f(1, upper))의 40MHz 대역에서 다중 채널을 통해 하나 또는 두 명의 사용자에게 채널을 할당할 수 있다.
제2중심 주파수(f2)의 대역 또한 낮은 대역(f(2, lower))과 높은 대역(f(2, upper))의 40MHz 대역에서 다중 채널을 통해 하나 또는 두 명의 사용자에게 채널을 할당할 수 있다.
즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)와 제2중심 주파수(f2)의 각 대역들은 모두 독립적인 2개의 무선 채널들을 갖는다.
결국 본 발명에 따른 VHT BSS의 구성은 도 4의 참조부호 430과 같이 구성되며 제1중심 주파수(f1)와 제2중심 주파수(f2)의 각 대역들에서도 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템 기술은 각기 적용될 수 있음을 나타낸다. 또한 상기 도 1의 실시 예를 포함하는 상기 도 4의 VHT BSS 구성은 연속적인(contiguous) 제1 및 제2중심 주파수(f1/f2)의 높은(upper) 대역 채널과 낮은(lower) 대역 채널은 시간 및 송수신 동기(synchronous)가 맞아야 한다는 특징을 지니므로 40MHz의 대역폭을 갖는 하나의 채널로서 동작할 수도 있다.
도 5는 본 발명의 또 다른 실시 예에 따라 동기가 맞는 다중 채널을 포함하는 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 기본 서비스 구성도이다. 도 5에서도 AP(101)은 도 1의 AP와 동일하다. 따라서 동일한 참조부호를 사용하였다.
먼저 도 5는 앞에서 상술한 도 2의 (d)의 구조를 포함하는 형태이다. 즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)에서 연속적인 4개의 대역들을 이용하여 고용량의 BSS를 구성한 형태이다. 도 5에 도시한 바와 같이 제1중심 주파수(f1)를 갖는 각 대역들을 제1섹터(501) 방향과 제2섹터(502) 방향으로 빔이 형성되도록 빔 성형(beam froming)하는 경우를 도시하고 있다.
즉, 제1중심 주파수(f1)에서의 대역과 동일한 대역폭을 사용하는 독립적인 무선 채널은 모두 2개이다. 그러나, 동일한 중심 주파수(f1)의 각 대역들을 각기 다른 형태로 빔이 형성되도록 빔 성형하는 형태를 도시한 것이다. IEEE 802.11 시스템에 이 경우를 적용되면, 80MHz의 대역폭을 사용할 수 있다.
결국 도 5에서 나타나는 VHT BSS의 구성은 연속적인 특징을 가지며, 송수신의 동기가 일치하지만 2개의 무선 단말이 각기 80MHz를 사용할 수 있다. 이를 보다 구체적으로 기술하면 다중 안테나 기술을 이용한 공간 분할 다중 접속(Space Division Multiple Access, SDMA)의 기술이 적용되어 각 무선 단말에게 맞추어진 빔이 안테나를 통하여 송신을 수행하는 형태가 된다.
이상에서 설명한 도 1 내지 도 4은 동일한 대역에서 송수신 동기가 맞도록 다중 채널을 구성할 수 있는 방법을 설명하였다. 이는 도 5에서 보이는 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 방법과 동일하다. 또한 이상에서 설명한 각각의 예에서 AP는 8개의 송신 안테나를 사용하므로 4개의 안테나를 사용하여 2개의 서로 다른 빔을 송신할 수 있다. 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 방법을 사용하여 무선 데이터를 송수신할 때에는 채널의 특성, 무선 BSS의 구조, 그리고 네트워크의 특징에 따라서 또 다른 개수의 빔을 생성할 수 있다. 이를 예를 들어 보다 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
먼저 앞서 기술한 것과 같이 도 5로 구성되는 무선 BSS는 40MHz의 대역에 각기 4개의 안테나를 갖는 2개의 무선 단말로 구성되어 동시에 AP(101)로부터 서비스를 지원받을 수 있다. 만약 동일한 BSS에 2개 안테나를 사용하는 임의의 무선 단말이 연결을 요청하여 4개의 안테나를 갖는 단말과 함께 동작하고자 하는 경우가 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 경우 AP(101)와 4개의 안테나를 갖는 무선 단말들은 2개의 안테나를 갖는 무선 단말의 동작을 함께 지원하기 위하여 4개의 안테나를 갖는 무선 단말도 2개씩 안테나만을 사용하여 빔을 생성할 것이다. 따라서 이와 같이 2개의 안테나를 갖는 무선 단말은 최대 4개까지 동시에 서비스 지원을 받을 수 있다.
이상에서 살핀 바와 같이 빔 형성 및 무선 송신 방법은 무선 BSS의 운영에 따라 동적으로 안테나 및 빔 생성 수가 변경되면서 사용될 수도 있고 일정한 기간 동안 고정되어 사용될 수도 있다.
이상에서 설명한 본 발명의 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 서비스 구조에서는 다음 이하에서 설명하는 것과 같은 매체 접근 제어(Medium Access Control, 이하 “MAC”이라 함) 프로토콜 동작을 포함한다. 보다 상세히 설명하면 본 발명에 따른 무선 통신 시스템의 MAC 프로토콜은 크게 제어 구간(controlled phase)과 경쟁 구간(contention-based phase)으로 구분된다.
예를 들어 경쟁 구간에서 AP를 포함하는 고용량 무선 장치들은 기존의 IEEE 802.11에서 정의한 MAC 프로토콜의 EDCA(enhanced distributed channel access)의 채널 접근 방법(channel access method)을 사용하여 경쟁을 수행한 후 무선 채널에 대한 송신 기회를 획득할 수 있다. 또한 제어 구간에서는 기존의 IEEE 802.11에서 정의한 MAC 프로토콜의 PCF(point coordination function) 또는 HCCA(HCF controlled channel access)의 채널 접근 방안을 사용하여 무선 채널에 대한 송신을 수행할 수 있다.
도 6은 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 MAC 기본 동작을 설명하기 위한 타이밍도이다. 이하 도 6을 참조하여 본 발명에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 장치 예를 들어 VHT의 AP에서 서로 다른 중심 주파수들(f1 ~ f4)에서 각 대역들 즉, 다중 채널들의 동작을 설명하기로 한다.
도 6에 도시한 타이밍도는 도 1 및 도 2의 (a)에 도시한 예를 이용한 구성을 기반으로 하고 있다. 도 6을 설명함에 있어 4개의 중심 주파수들(f1 ~ f4)은 각 중심 주파수에서의 대역들 즉, 다중 채널들로 이해되어야 함에 유의해야 한다.
상기 각 중심 주파수들은 기본적으로 동기가 맞춰진 동일한 구간들을 가진다. 즉, 제어 구간(Controlled phase)(610)과 경쟁 기반 구간(Contention-based phase)(620)을 가지며, 각각의 중심 주파수들(f1 ~ f4)은 제어 구간(610)과 경쟁 기반 구간(620)에 따라서 각기 동기화 되어 있다. 그러나 각각의 중심 주파수들에서 각 다중 채널은 독립적으로 운용될 수 있으며, 각 무선 채널의 서비스에 따라 제어 구간(610)이 운용될 수도 있다. 즉, 도 6에 도시한 바와 같이 제어 구간(610)이 종료되면, 경쟁 기반 구간(620)에서 각 단말(STA)들의 경쟁을 기반으로 하여 동작이 이루어진다.
제어 구간(610)은 미리 결정된 시간 동안 유지되며, 비컨(Beacon) 프레임(601) 등과 같은 시작 프레임으로 시작된다. 비컨 프레임(601)과 같은 시작 프레임은 미리 결정된 주기 단위로 전송된다. 도 6에서는 t0의 시점에서 비컨 프레임이 시작되어 t1의 시점까지 전송된 후 t1의 시점부터 t2의 시점까지 제어 구간(610)이 지속되는 경우를 가정하였다.
본 발명의 실시 예에 따르면, 제어 구간(610)에서는 AP(101)가 다중 채널(multi-channel)로 하향 링크(downlink)를 통해 동기화 데이터를 각 단말(STA)들로 전송하는 구간이다(630). 즉, 제어 구간(610)에서는 시간 동기를 맞춰 데이터 전송이 이루어진다. 또한 제어 구간(610) 이후에는 경쟁 기반 구간(620)이 운용된다.
한편, AP(101)에서 제어할 수 있는 제어 구간(610)은 경쟁을 통하여 획득한 채널에 대해서도 사용할 수 있다. 이러한 경우 백오프(backoff)를 통해 채널 접근에 대한 오버헤드를 줄이면서, 전력 관리 혹은 호환성/상호 공존의 기능을 위해서 효율적으로 사용될 수 있다. 반면에 물리 계층(PHY Layer) 및 무선(RF) 기술에 있어 포함되는 복잡도가 함께 고려되어야 한다.
다음으로 경쟁 기반 구간(620)에 대하여 살펴보기로 한다.
경쟁 기반 구간(620)에서는 각 단말(STA)들이 무선 자원을 획득하기 위한 경쟁 기반의 동작이 이루어지는 구간이다. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따르면 경쟁 기반 구간(620)은 다중 채널(multi-channel)로 비동기(ASync) 상향 링크(uplink) 데이터 전송이 이루어질 수 있다(640). 즉, 경쟁 기반 구간(620)은 시간 동기를 맞추지 않고 상향 링크 전송이 이루어지는 구간이 된다.
이와 같이 시간 동기가 독립적인 상향 링크 서비스에 대하여는 IEEE 802.11에서 이미 정의하고 있는 MAC 프로토콜 중 EDCA(Enhanced Distributed Channel Access) 방식의 경쟁 기술을 적용할 수 있다. 따라서 기존 IEEE 802.11 시스템과 호환성 및 상호 공존(coexistence) 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 반면에 시간 동기 및 송수신 동작이 자율적으로 제어되어야 하므로 물리계층(PHY Layer) 및 무선(RF) 기술의 복잡도가 증가될 수 있다.
또한 경쟁 기반 구간(620) 내에 제어 구간(Controlled phase)들(621, 622, 623, 624, 625)이 하나 이상 존재할 수 있다. 도 6에서 제3중심 주파수(f3)에서는 경쟁 기반 구간(620) 내에 두 개의 제어 구간들(623, 624)을 두고 있는 형태를 도시하였다. 또한 경쟁 기반 구간(620) 내에서 제어 구간을 두지 않도록 구성할 수도 있음에 유의해야 한다. 이러한 제어 구간들(621 ~ 625)은 각 무선 채널에서 지원하는 서비스를 각 무선 채널을 통해 통신하는 장치들간 시간 동기를 맞춰 통신함을 의미한다.
한편, 도 6에서 설명한 경쟁 기반 구간(620)에서 시간 동기를 일치하여 동작하도록 구성할 수도 있다. 즉, 다중 채널을 통해 상향 링크로 데이터 전송 시 시간 동기를 맞춰 전송할 수도 있다. 이와 같이 시간 동기를 맞춰 동작하는 경우 각기 다른 대역폭에서 동작하는 다중 채널 CCA(Clear Channel Assessment) 기술을 적용할 수 있다. 이와 같이 CCA 기술을 적용하여 다중 채널 상향 링크에서 시간 동기를 맞춰 제어하는 경우 물리 계층(PHY Layer) 및 무선(RF) 복잡도를 낮출 수 있는 이점이 있다.
이상에서 설명한 바와 같이 본 발명에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 시스템은 무선 채널의 특징 및 서비스 특징에 따라 모든 다중 채널의 시간 및 안테나의 송수신 동기가 지원되거나 또는 지원될 필요가 없는 서비스 또는 시간 및 안테나의 송수신 동기가 부분적으로 지원되거나 또는 지원될 필요가 없는 서비스에 모두 적용할 수 있다.
도 7은 본 발명의 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 비동기 다중 채널의 기본 동작을 설명하기 위한 타이밍도이다. 도 7은 본 발명에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 VHT AP(101)와 무선 단말(STA)들(STA 1, STA 2, STA 3)간의 상향 링크 동작에 중점을 둔 타이밍도이다.
먼저 제어 접속(Controlled Access) 구간(710)은 도 6에서 설명한 제어 구간(610)의 일부분이 된다. 먼저 제어 접속 구간(710)은 EDCA 접속(Access) 방식의 시작(B, Begin) 프레임(701)이 전송된 후 미리 결정된 시간만큼 지연되어 TXOP(Transmission Opportunity)을 시작으로 제어 접속 구간(710)이 시작된다. 상기 도 7의 제어 접속 구간(710)은 하나의 TXOP transmission으로 구성된 것으로 나타나 있는 데, 이는 실시 예로 보다 확장하여 본 발명에서 정의하는 제어 접속 구간은 지원하고자 하는 데이터의 QoS 특징에 따라서 하나 이상의 TXOP으로 구성될 수도 있다. 이때, 시작 프레임(701)은 예를 들면 앞에서 설명한 비컨(Veacon) 프레임 또는 RTS-CTS(Request to send-Clear to send) 프레임 교환(exchange) 또는 CTS-to-Self 프레임 등이 있으며, 더 나아가 poll 의미를 포함하는 프레임과 NAV를 위한 의미를 갖는 프레임 중 어떤 것이어도 무방하다.
또한 이러한 제어 접속 구간(710)은 앞선 도 6에서의 설명에서와 같이 시작 프레임(701)에 의해 시간에 동기되어 데이터를 전송하는 구간이며, 하향 링크로 데이터 전송이 이루어진다. 또한 TXOP(Transmission Opportunity) 구간 동안 다른 단말의 접속을 방지하기 위해 네트워크 할당 벡터(NAV, Network Allocation Vector)(711)에 의해 미리 송신 시간이 설정된다. 여기서 TXOP(Transmission Opportunity)는, IEEE 802.11에서 정의되어 있는 것을 포함하며, 보다 확장하여 경쟁(contention) 없이 송신을 진행할 수 있는 채널 권한으로, NAV에서 설정된 시간과 같은 시간의 값으로 표현된다.
제어 전송 구간(710)에서 데이터 전송이 완료되면 종료(E, End) 프레임을 통해 NAV 설정을 해지한다. 이러한 종료 프레임(702)은 CF-End 프레임 또는 응답(Acknowledgement) 프레임 등과 같이 NAV 값을 리셋(reset)하는 의미를 포함하는 모든 프레임이 될 수 있다. 또한 이러한 NAV 설정의 해지를 위한 프레임은 모든 채널 즉, 도 6의 경우를 예로 설명하면, 모든 중심 주파수(f1 ~ f4)들의 각 대역들 모두로 전송된다.
다음으로 경쟁 기반 접속 구간(720)에 대하여 살펴보기로 한다.
경쟁 기반 접속 구간(720)을 살피기에 앞서, 도 7에서는 3개의 단말들(STA 1, STA 2, STA 3)을 예로 설명할 것이며, 단말을 나타내는 구분 선인 참조부호 730, 740, 750을 기준으로 그 하단에 도시한 블록은 단말로부터 AP(101)로 제공되는 프레임이고, 상단에 도시한 블록은 AP(101)로부터 단말로 제공되는 프레임이라는 점에 유의하자. 또한 경쟁 기반 접속 구간(720)에서 각각의 다중 채널은 독립적으로 접근이 이루어진다.
먼저 제1단말(STA 1), 제2단말(STA 2) 및 제3단말(STA 3)의 순서로 각 단말의 전송에 대하여 살펴보기로 하자.
제1단말(STA 1)은 경쟁 기반 접속 구간(720)에서 제1데이터 프레임(731)을 전송하고 TXOP 구간(732) 동안 하나 이상의 데이터 프레임을 상향 링크로 전송한다. 여기서 TXOP(Transmission Opportunity)는 앞에서 설명한 바와 같이 경쟁(contention) 없이 송신을 진행할 수 있는 채널 권한을 의미하며, 시간의 값으로 표현된다. 그러면 상기 전송된 각 프레임들에 대하여 AP(101)로부터 응답 프레임(A)(733)을 수신하는 경우를 도시하였다.
제2단말(STA 2)은 AP(101)로 데이터 프레임을 송신(741)하고, AP(101)로부터 데이터 프레임을 수신(742)하며, 다시 제2단말(STA 2)이 AP(101)로 데이터 프레임을 송신(743)하고, AP(101)로부터 데이터 프레임을 수신(744)한다. 이후 제2단말(STA 2)이 TXOP 구간(732) 동안 하나 이상의 데이터 프레임을 AP(101)로 송신하면, AP(101)가 그에 대한 응답(A)(746)을 제2단말(STA 2)로 전송하는 경우를 도시하였다.
제3단말(STA 3)은 AP(101)로 데이터 프레임을 송신(751)하고, AP(101)로부터 데이터 프레임을 수신한 후 AP(101)로 TXOP 구간(732) 동안 하나 이상의 데이터 프레임을 송신한다. 도 7에서 제3단말(STA 3)은 RD(Reverse Direction) 프로토콜에 따라 AP(101)의 송신 데이터를 수신할 수 있는 단말이다. 즉, 도 7의 RD tx 구간(754)은 제3단말(STA 3)에서 획득한 TXOP 구간 동안 AP(101)에서 응답 프레임과 함께 데이터를 송신하는 것을 의미하는 것이며, 도 7에서 제3단말의 RD tx 구간(754)은 이러한 과정을 간략하게 도식화 하고 있는 것이다.
이상에서 설명한 도 7의 기본 동작은 경쟁 기반 접속 구간(720)인 비동기 채널에 각기 연결된 무선 단말의 독립적이며 지원 가능한 기본 운용 동작이다.
만일 동기가 맞는 다중 사용자 다중 안테나(Multi-user MIMO) 기술에 의하여 지원되는 무선 단말들은 도 7에 도시한 각 단말들의 기본 동작에 대한 실시 예들 중에서 하나의 운용 동작으로만 동작한다. 또한 상기 실시 예에서 역방향의 자원을 사용하는 RD(Reverse Direction) 프로토콜은 비동기 동작의 경우에만 적용될 수 있다.
즉, 이상에서 설명한 도 7의 제어 접속 구간(710) 및 경쟁 기반 접속 구간(720)은 다중 채널 내의 모든 무선 채널이 비동기적인 특징을 갖는 경우를 실시 예로 도시하여 설명하였다. 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템의 동작은 도 6과 도 7의 실시 예에 명확하게 명시되지 않았지만 본 발명에 따른 무선 통신 시스템 내의 특징을 보았을 때 두 실시 예에 대해서도 시간 동기가 일치하는 경우에 적용될 수 있다. 바꿔 이야기하면 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템이 적용되는 도 7에서 명시된 Tx 및 TXOP transmission의 동작은 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템을 지원하기 위하여 정의된 MAC 프로토콜의 동작을 따를 수 있다.
도 8은 본 발명에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 참조 구현 모델을 도시한 도면이다.
본 발명은 다중 채널을 기반으로 각 채널에 대한 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템을 적용할 수 있다. 이를 좀 더 자세히 살펴보기로 한다. 첫째, 서비스를 제공하고자 하는 또는 서비스를 제공하고자 하는 데이터의 특징 및 채널 상태에 채널을 선택한다. 둘째, 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템이 적용되는 각 채널에서 송신 무선 장치와 수신 무선 장치 사이의 채널 상태에 따라서 송신 기법을 적용할 수 있다.
도 8을 참조하면, MAC 계층의 상위 계층으로부터 수신되는 데이터인 MSDU(MAC Service Data Unit)는 사용자 우선순위(UP, User Priority)와 본 발명에 따른 VHT BSS를 운용하는 접속점 예를 들어 AP에 대한 접속번호(AID, Association Identity)와 함께 상위 매퍼부(810)로 전달된다. 도 8을 설명함에 있어 AP(Access Point)는 앞에서 설명한 참조부호 101의 AP가 아니며, 각 무선 자원을 제어(coordination)하는 내부 기능을 의미함에 유의해야 한다.
또한 상위 매퍼부(810)는 각 무선 장치에 대한 채널 상태 정보(CSI, Channel Status information)를 수신한다. 그러면 상위 매퍼부(810)는 상위 계층으로부터 수신된 MSDU(801)를 AID, UP와 AID에 대한 CSI를 바탕으로 AP에 대응하여 MSDU 패킷을 매핑하고, 이를 AP 단위 큐 계층(820)으로 제공한다.
AP 단위 큐 계층(820)은 임의의 가상 AP 단위 큐들(821, 822, 823, 824)을 가지고 있으며, 도 8에서는 4개의 가상 AP 단위 큐들(821, 822, 823, 824)을 도시하였다. 이와 같이 4개의 AP 단위 큐들만을 도시한 것은 앞서 설명한 도 1과 같이 4개의 중심 주파수들(f1 ~ f4)로 구성된 무선 채널에 대한 제어가 이루어져야 하는데 이러한 역할을 가상 AP 기능으로 정의하여 동작하도록 도시한 것이다. 따라서 패킷의 목적지 무선 단말과 실제적인 AP와의 채널 정보를 기반으로 어떤 무선 채널을 사용할 것인지 결정하게 되는데 이를 통하여 가상 AP가 결정되게 된다. 이와 같이 각각의 큐에서 가상 AP 단위로 구분된 패킷들은 다시 하위 매퍼부(830)로 제공된다.
하위 매퍼부(830)는 도 8에 도시한 바와 같이 AP 단위 큐들(821, 822, 823, 824) 각각에 대응하여 하위 매퍼들(831, 832, 833, 834)을 구비한다. 하위 매퍼들(831, 832, 833, 834)은 상위 매퍼부(810)에서 각 AP별로 매핑된 데이터를 각 AP에 대한 AID 및 CIS 값을 이용하여 무선 데이터의 QoS를 지원하기 위해 UP(User Priority)를 기준으로 지정된 우선 순위(priority)에 따라서 다시 각 AP의 접속 카테고리(Access Catagory)별로 구분한다. 위와 같이 하위 매퍼부(830)에서 카테고리 별로 구분된 데이터는 다시 송신 메모리(840)로 입력된다.
송신 메모리(840)는 각 AP 단위의 큐들(841, 842, 843, 844)로 구분된다. AP 단위의 각 큐들(841, 842, 843, 844)은 EDCA 방식에 따라 AC들 단위로 전송된다.
따라서 이상에서 상술한 동작을 통해 데이터를 송신하고자 하는 무선 채널이 결정되면 MSDU와 이에 대한 UP, 그리고 AID에 대한 CSI가 입력 값을 이용하여 전송이 이루어진다. 또한 각 채널에서 관리되는 채널의 특징에 따라서 송신 기법이 달리 적용될 수 있다.
상술한 도 8의 참조 구현 모델이 도 7과 같이 다중 채널을 사용하는 경우 본 발명에 따른 고용량 무선 통신 시스템은 제어 구간과 경쟁 구간을 지원할 수 있다. 따라서 채널 각각은 특정 목적을 지니는 프레임만을 서비스할 수도 있다. 예를 들어 특정 채널을 시그널만 전송하는 시그널 채널(Signal channel)로 또는 데이터만 전송하는 데이터 채널(data channel)로 사용 가능하다. 이와 달리 사용자의 요구사항에 따라서 특정 서비스만 지원될 수도 있다. 예를 들어 제1중심 주파수(f1)의 대역을 사용하는 채널은 긴급 데이터만을 전송하는 긴급 데이터 채널(emergency data channel)로 사용할 수도 있다. 또 다른 방법으로 다중 채널간의 경쟁이 지원될 수도 있다.
도 9는 본 발명에 따른 다중 채널 기반의 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템에서 서비스 시나리오의 일 예시도이다.
도 9에서 도시한 AP(101)은 앞에서 계속 설명한 본 발명에 따른 VHT 서비스가 가능한 AP이다. AP(101)을 기준으로 제1중심 주파수(f1)의 영역(910)과 제2중심 주파수(f2)의 영역(920)을 구분하여 도시하였다. 실제로 도 9에 도시한 바와 같이 구분되지 않을 수도 있으나, 도 9에서는 발명의 이해를 돕기 위해 도시한 것임에 유의해야 한다. 또한 도 9에서 중심 주파수들은 중심 주파수의 대역들 즉, 다중 채널임에 유의해야 한다.
제1중심 주파수(f1)의 영역(910) 내에는 고용량 무선 장치들(911, 912)이 포함되어 있으며, 제2고용량 무선 장치(912)와 AP(101)간 제1중심 주파수(f1)를 이용하여 통신이 이루어지는 경우를 가정하였다. 또한 제2중심 주파수(f2)의 영역(920) 내에도 고용량 무선 장치들(921, 922)이 포함되어 있으며, 제1고용량 무선 장치(921)와 AP(101)간 제2중심 주파수(f2)를 이용하여 통신이 이루어지는 경우를 가정하였다. 이러한 경우 참조부호 930과 같이 기존 단말(legacy STA)(931)이 VHT 영역 중 제1중심 주파수(f1)를 이용하는 영역(910)으로 이동하는 경우를 가정하였다.
따라서 본 발명에 따른 고용량 AP(101)는 제1중심 주파수(f1)에서 다중 사용자 다중 안테나 시스템 방안을 사용하여 제2고용량 무선 장치(912)들을 서비스하고 있다. 이때, 기존 단말(931)이 참조부호 930과 같이 AP(101)의 영역으로 진입하여 AP(101)에게 서비스를 위한 연결요청(Association Request)을 하면 AP(101)는 제1중심 주파수(f1) 중 유휴의 무선 대역폭을 사용하여 기존 단말(931)에게 서비스를 지원하기 위한 BSS를 운용한다.
이에 따라 본 발명에 따른 VHT AP(101)는 기존 단말(931)로 기존 서비스(legacy service)를 위한 무선 채널을 운용함으로써 호환을 지원할 수 있다. 또한 VHT STA들과 기존 단말(legacy STA)이 혼재되어 있는 경우에 기존 단말에게 더 높은 QoS를 지원할 수도 있다. 또한 기존 단말을 지원하기 위하여 VHT STA이 갖는 호환기능 등에 대한 추가적인 부담이 존재하지 않아 서비스를 지원하는데 예상되는 복잡도를 낮출 수 있다.

Claims (19)

  1. 다중 안테나를 사용하여 다중 사용자와 통신을 하기 위한 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법에 있어서,
    미리 결정된 중심 주파수에 하나 이상의 대역을 서로 다른 단말에 할당하는 과정과,
    상기 다중 안테나를 이용하여 상기 각 단말에 할당된 중심 주파수의 각 대역을 통해 통신하는 과정을 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 각 중심 주파수가 둘 이상인 경우 서로 다른 중심 주파수의 각 대역은, 상호간 모두 불연속된 대역인, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 각 중심 주파수가 둘 이상인 경우 상기 각 중심 주파수에 포함되는 대역들은 상호 대역간 연속된 대역인, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  4. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 하나의 대역에서 동시에 할당 가능한 단말은 최대 2개인, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  5. 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 통신 과정은,
    미리 결정된 제1시간 구간 동안 하향 링크 통신을 수행하며, 상기 제1시간 구간 종료 후 미리 결정된 제2시간 구간 동안 대역 할당이 경쟁 기반으로 이루어지는 상향 링크 통신을 수행하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  6. 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 제1시간 구간은,
    시작 프레임에 의해 시작 시점이 결정되며, 미리 설정된 파라미터에 의해 상기 제1시간 구간 동안 데이터 보호를 하며, 상기 파라미터 해지를 위한 프레임의 전송에 의해 종료되는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  7. 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 제1시간 구간은,
    모든 단말들과 상기 모든 대역에서 시간 동기를 맞춰 통신하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  8. 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 제2시간 구간은,
    상기 단말들과 각 대역에서 시간 동기를 맞추지 않고 통신하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  9. 제 8 항에 있어서,
    상기 제2시간 구간 내에서 상기 단말들과 동기를 맞춰 통신하는 제3시간 구간을 더 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  10. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 제2시간 구간 동안 상향링크로 전송되는 데이터는, 데이터 프레임, 관리 프레임, 제어 프레임 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  11. 제 10 항에 있어서,
    상기 제2시간 구간 동안 하향링크로 전송되는 데이터는, 응답 프레임, 데이터 프레임 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  12. 제 5 항에 있어서,
    상기 제2시간 구간 동안 상향링크로 전송되는 데이터는, 데이터 프레임, 관리 프레임, 제어 프레임 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  13. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 고용량 무선 통신 시스템과 호환 가능한 제2단말로부터 연결 요청이 존재할 시 유휴 무선 대역의 존재 여부를 검사하는 과정과,
    유휴 무선 대역이 존재할 시 상기 제2단말에 유휴 대역폭을 할당하여 통신하는 과정을 더 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  14. 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 제2시간 구간은,
    모든 단말들과 상기 모든 대역에서 시간 동기를 맞춰 통신하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 방법.
  15. 다중 안테나를 사용하여 다중 사용자와 통신을 하기 위한 고용량 무선 통신 시스템의 MAC 계층 장치에 있어서,
    상기 MAC 계층의 상위 계층으로부터 단말로 제공할 데이터와 사용자의 우선 순위 및 접속점에 대한 접속번호를 수신하고, 접속점에 대한 채널 상태 정보를 이용하여 상기 단말로 제공할 데이터를 접속점별로 매핑하는 상위 매퍼부와,
    상기 상위 매퍼부에서 매핑된 데이터를 각 접속점에 대한 채널 상태 정보를 이용하여 카테고리별로 다시 매핑하는 하위 매퍼부를 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치.
  16. 제 15 항에 있어서,
    상기 상위 매버부와 상기 하위 매퍼부간 전달되는 데이터를 버퍼링하는 접속점 단위 큐를 더 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치.
  17. 제 16 항에 있어서,
    상기 접속접 단위 큐는 각 접속점 별로 구분된 다수의 큐들을 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치.
  18. 제 15 항에 있어서,
    상기 하위 매버부에서 매핑된 데이터를 물리계층으로 전달하기 위해 버퍼링하는 메모리부를 더 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치.
  19. 제 18 항에 있어서, 상기 메모리부는,
    각 접속점별로 구분된 접속 카테고리들을 위한 다수의 큐들을 포함하는, 고용량 무선 통신 시스템에서 통신 장치.
