A presente invenção refere-se a uma tampa provida de trava de segurança pertencente ao campo das embalagens, a qual foi desenvolvida para permitir uma utilização mais segura visando evitar sua abertura indesejada, principalmente por crianças. Conforme é do conhecimento geral, muitos recipientes que acomodam produtos diversos na forma líquida ou semi-pastosa possuem fechamento superior feito com tampas tipo "disc-top", cujas tampas são constituídas por discos articuláveis como gangorras ao redor de um eixo, de tal modo que a pressão exercida sobre um determinado lado de sua superfície superior automaticamente resulta na elevação da superfície oposta, que geralmente é dotada de canal para escoamento do produto armazenado. Ocorre que tais tampas são de fácil manuseio, o que facilita a abertura por crianças ou outros indivíduos para os quais o acesso ao produto armazenado pode configurar sério risco de ingestão acidental ou de ocorrência de transtornos diversos. Para tentar evitar a abertura indesejada desse tipo de tampa, foi desenvolvida a configuração descrita na patente norte-americana US6.896.160 que apresenta, no corpo principal ou no disco articulado, cavidades horizontais que possibilitam que o disco seja girado até que uma saliência vertical situada em sua face posterior se encaixe em um trilho existente no corpo e, dessa forma, permita a articulação, abertura e remoção do produto armazenado. Apesar da eficiência em dificultar a abertura da embalagem, tal tampa apresenta o sério inconveniente de exigir movimentos voluntários para o seu posterior travamento
após a remoção do produto, de modo que uma eventual distração ou esquecimento do usuário em reposicionar o disco - ou sobretampa - na posição horizontal e/ou girá-lo novamente após o seu fechamento (para impedir a abertura indesejada da tampa) pode acarretar no mesmo risco de acidentes existente em uma tampa convencional desprovida de mecanismos de proteção. Assim, tendo em vista tais inconvenientes e com o propósito de solucioná-los, foi idealizada e desenvolvida a tampa tipo disco articulado provida de dispositivo de travamento com retorno automático objeto da presente invenção, dotada de haste que se prolonga da borda posterior do disco articulado e cuja extremidade livre se apóia sobre um batente existente no corpo principal da tampa, o qual impede sua abertura pela simples pressão do disco. Cabe salientar que tanto a haste quanto o batente podem apresentar formatos e configurações diversas sem que com isso se fuja do escopo da invenção.
