Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus for estimating energy consumption, comprising: a moving body settings input unit for inputting moving body information including the weight of a moving body and the desired energy consumption; an energy consumption estimating unit for estimating energy consumption for one or more routes on the basis of the moving body information; a route search unit for searching for a route from among the one or more routes that has an estimated energy consumption matching the desired energy consumption; and a route display unit for displaying the searched route. Accordingly, it is possible to exercise and travel without experiencing monotony, as various types of exercise and travel courses can be selected, and the maintenance of health and environmentally-friendly vehicle use can be achieved more efficiently as the amount of exercise and fuel consumption can be estimated beforehand.
