Abstract

Provided is an activated carbon block for water purification, comprising activated carbon, fibrous activated carbon, and a curable binder. The curable binder is urethane, and the carbon is pretreated with water prior to mixing the urethane and the carbon during the production of the activated carbon block. Preferably, the amount of the water in the pretreatment is 10 to 100% of the total weight of the carbon. The activated carbon block for water purification according to the present invention further comprises short fibers for reinforcing the strength thereof.
