Abstract
A user of internet on a computer system, laptop, mobile, and other electronic systems, will be able to access the relevant event websites from a single web page which is the source website. The source home page has a collection of different categories of websites. For example, the source website has a set of email client URLs, a set of bank names linked to respective URLs, a set of URLs for different airlines operating for travel, another set of URLs against a set of online trading and online shopping portals, and so on. The user may select her bank name and click on the link for the same, that routes her to a separate browser opening the bank home page. The system source website is able to route to different types of web pages as needed and provided in the categories on the source site.
Description
SELECTING AND ROUTING OF DIFFERENT EVENT WEBSITES FROM ONE SOURCE WEBSITE
Technical Field
Internet has many uses. Technology has led to ease of access of bank accounts, booking travel arrangements, communicating with others and many other activities - all online instantaneously. Each of these events entails a website that we call as an event website. This in turn calls for remembering multiple websites and typing the URL names to access each of the websites or retrieving out of the system memory e.g. stored from favorite folder. At times, the user may also loose track of the next activity in line.
E.g. by the time the user checks emails, she may miss out that the shopping package has not been delivered as scheduled, or she may forget that she needs to check the bank balances and pay bills. Imagine a webpage that categorizes important events like checking emails, bank accounts, credit card accounts, shopping accounts and airlines for travel tickets - provides easy access of all these in one go. The user may track her needs against each of the categories. Let's call this webpage as the 'source website/ webpage/ source'.
Background Art
The current trend is the existence of several websites that meet requirements in a standalone or specific/ independent needs in the form of email providers, search engines, travel booking, online banking etc. The proposed invention is attempting to bring all these under one umbrella so that the user has one system to access the custom-specific requirements.
Technical Problem
The following example will illustrate the problems leading to necessity of the above
User Aby regularly checks emails, online bank accounts, trades stocks, tracks personal investment portfolios and orders grocery/ apparel/ shoes on online shopping. Aby wants an easy access to all her websites due to the following problems she faces everytime -
1) Aby misses out on bill payment frequently because she ends up checking the accounts after the due date. Aby forgets to check her credit card account by the time she checks her emails and gets lost on the content read in the emails.
2) Aby has a long list of things to refer to - names of innumerable websites, user names, passwords. Aby forgets the lengthy names of some of the websites and finds it tedious to type in website addresses.
3) Aby wants easy access, however is reluctant to share the passwords of emails, bank account user names, account numbers etc and is apprehensive about the system storing the data in database and retrieving it for future use.
4) Aby wants to save time without missing out anything. Aby wants a simple website that just refers her to the different banks, shopping sites or email websites that she wants to be routed to.
Technical Solution
The source website in solution has a collection of all event websites linked to the respective webpages. The source website does not store the user's confidential data like bank account numbers, SSN, email passwords etc. The website is simply a source to expedite and 'ensure' website access. The security of the user is thus not compromised. Expedite is for the quick access without having to memorize or type the different URLs multiple number of times. Ensure is for making sure that the user does not miss out on any category during the browsing as illustrated above. It improves the system performance too. The source website is the source for the websites, those need not be stored in favorites or any folders in the system. The system memory/ cache is thus utilized for better purposes.
Advantageous Effects
- Aby is sure of easy access without missing out on any important site.
- Aby clicks on her bank name and the website opens in a separate browser window without closing the source website. Aby logs into the bank account. If Aby has stored her user name and/ or password e.g. by selecting 'remember user details' on the bank login page, then clicking on the bank name in the source website opens the bank's login page accordingly either asking for password or the logged in user home page as selected by the user.
Aby need not type in the website addresses of all of the innumerable portals that she wants to access. She is able to select a website of choice from the source website.
Industry benefits from this concept are in the form of exact automation that captures specifics rather than all in general. Industry uses range from employee use to corporate access reducing bureaucratic intervention and granting smooth/ streamlined functioning. Employees get access to specific set of websites without access to other websites that may be risky to the firm's interests or that may not be preferred by the firms like pornographic sites.
Description of Drawings
The drawing in Fig 1 shows the source website [101] offering different categories of event websites [102]. User gets routed to different categories like banks, shopping sites, email portals and travel portals - from a single source website.
Mode of invention
The source website is a simple collection of all event websites. Once the system gets familiar with the user preferences, these categories may be expanded to include other necessary events like the user's preference for booking restaurant tickets, movie tickets, watching online movies, playing online games, etc.
