Abstract

The invention relates to the field of lubricants, more specifically to a water-soluble lubricant for chain conveyors, and can be used in the food industry in the filling of juices, wine, beer, water, etc. into glass, metal or plastic containers, as well as Tetra Pak containers, to ensure the steady and uninterrupted functioning of process conveyor belts by preventing the packaged food product from falling. The water-soluble conveyor lubricant comprises the following components: 1.5 to 12 wt% ethanolamine oleate, 2.0 to 20 wt% alkyl dimethyl carboxybetaine, 0.12 to 3.0 wt% boric acid, and the balance water. The composition may additionally include an aqueous emulsion of polydimethlysiloxane in the amount of 7 to 12 wt%. The lubricant is able to retain its properties during freezing and subsequent defrosting, which is important for the transportation and storage thereof in cold weather conditions. The coefficient of friction is lowered, frothing is reduced and almost entirely eliminated and the composition is rendered more simple and less expensive.
