  • Polymer coatings include the binders used to formulate coating and adhesives.
  • the polymer coating resin can be solvent or water based, or applied as a 100% solid, such as powder coatings or radiation cured coatings.
  • Adhesive materials are formulated to give desired adhesive and tack properties, and resistance to temperature and fluids.
  • Ceramic coatings are non-metallic materials that include carbides, nitrides, borides and suicides that are processed and used at high temperatures. The characteristics of ceramic coating include wear and abrasion resistant, low friction, high hardness, anti-reflective, corrosion resistant and slows diffusion rate.

This provides resistance to wear on operation, thereby ensuring the outer tie rods that are fitted onto field vehicles have improved life during its service. Abstract

La présente invention concerne un joint à rotule pour direction d'automobile comprenant une biellette de direction interne (ITR) et une biellette de direction externe (OTR) dans une timonerie de direction. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne une couche anti-usure et/ou anti-frottement appliquée sur les interfaces de jointure internes d'un tel joint à rotule par pulvérisation ou enrobage par immersion ou dépôt par centrifugation ou adhérence de couche ou pose par assemblage par dessus un élément en matériau de base conférant une résistance à l'usure lors du fonctionnement, garantissant ainsi aux joints à rotule installés sur des véhicules une durée de vie améliorée. Avantageusement, la présente invention concerne le dépôt, l'adhérence ou la pose par assemblage d'une couche anti-frottement sur le pourtour de la surface sphérique/la tête du pivot à rotule puis l'assemblage sur un élément d'appariement avec ou sans graisse de lubrification appliquée à la conjonction d'appariement, puis assemblée sur le logement de douille avec ou sans couverture de protection contre les contaminants.
