Description

A MOBILE DEVICE DISPLAYING EDUCATION CONTENTS Field of Invention
This invention relates to a mobile device displaying various education contents. Prior Art
In mobile devices, platform-free applications can be performed; however, application developing languages have some constraints for mobile devices. Diversities in hardware features of mobile devices such as screen size, memory and processor cause difficulties for the application developers. Because mobile devices do not operate on a single common platform, support different operating systems and different programming versions; problems occur in developing common education content for the different devices.
In this context, although the most preferred technology in the mobile devices is web technology in terms of accessing to content, providing professional and interactive education contents is limited by the fact that the web browsers in the mobile devices are insufficient in respect of animation, voice, video and graphic.
Moreover, il is rather difficult to display the education contents by means of a common application. In the Symbian operating system supported phones, for example, Symbian C++ application is built up, while an application is built up by Net programming language in the Windows Mobile phones. Moreover, Flash Lite can be used for the platform free Java ME programming language and animation based applications.
In addition to more comprehensible, easier and faster access to mobile education content in the different devices, secure content supply is also important. In this regard, client-server architecture is required to communicate with a secure communication protocol while access to education content is maintained through the mobile devices.
In JP2007066052, an application within the state of the art, a file transfer method which can shorten download time when the size of the downloaded file does not come up to one packet is disclosed.
In KR20020025132, another application within the state of the art, a method for building up a PDA-based mobile remote learning system is disclosed. A user can watch moving pictures and lecture programs through a CDMA network using a PDA, in which a wireless LAN card or a CDMA transmit-receive module is embedded.
Summary of the Invention
The objective of the present invention is to realize a mobile device that can display all kinds of animation, voice, video, SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) supported educations by means of an application downloaded from the server.
Detailed Description of the Invention
A mobile device realized to fulfill the objective of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures wherein,
Figure 1 is a schematic view of the mobile device according to invention.
Figure 2 is a flow diagram representing operation of the application used in the inventive mobile device.
The components shown in the figures are numbered individually, where the numbers refer to the following: 1. Mobile device
2. Engine
3. Player
4. File system
5. Application
6. Server
In the inventive mobile device (1) and operation system of the inventive mobile device (1); all animation, voice, video, SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) supported education contents are kept in one or more servers (6). Education data is encrypted in the server (6) via a DRM (Data Reference Model) added and improved secure protocol.
The inventive mobile device (1) comprises a main engine (2), a player (3) and a file system (4).
The main engine (2) runs the player (3), and provides communication with the server (6). In the file system (4), education files downloaded from the server (6) are saved. The player (3), when necessary, plays the education content by calling the content from the file system (4), and presents to the user.
Mobile device (1) is a wireless device such as PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), mobile phone, laptop, etc. Each mobile device (1) is a mobile client.
Education content dυwπluuded into the mobile device (1) cuii be opened with the player (3) installed in the mobile device (1 ). This player (3) is a program which can run a technology such as Flash Lite, SilverLight, JavaFX, etc. Such player (3) is an embedded player (3) installed during the manufacturing process or a player installed from the server (6) in the device. Before the education content is downloaded into the mobile device (1), an application (5) to be run with the player (3) is required to be installed. Such application (5) is also installed from the server (6). The user installs this application (5) into the mobile device (1) by making request to the server (6). After application (5) is installed, the user starts the application (5) and then the player (3) in the device (1). The user can see a list of education contents by connecting to the server (6) wherein the education contents is included by means of the application (5) installed in the meantime, and starts to download the desired content in to his/her device (1). Exchange of the education content desired to be downloaded and communication are performed between the client (mobile device (I)) and the server (6) in an encrypted form. When the user makes a request to the server (6), the mobile device (1) firstly encrypts this request, and sends it to the server (6). Then, the server (6) decrypts the incoming request, and sends the content to the device (1) after encrypting the content via a DRM added and improved secure protocol in accordance with this request. This encrypted content is decrypted by a decryption algorithm in the mobile device (1), and education is presented to the user over the application (5).
The application (5) is run by fulfilling the following steps:
the user's starting up the application (5) by clicking the application (5) icon on the mobile device (1) (101),
checking whether there is a manually installed player (3) in the device (1) (102),
if there is a manually installed player (3) in the device (1), running this player (3) (103),
if there is not a manually installed player (1) in the device (1), running the embedded player (3) (104),
checking the learning request of the user (105),
when a data request is received, checking whether the incoming request is available in the offline content saved in the file system (4) (106), if the incoming data request is available as offline content in the file system (4), calling the related data from the file system (4), decrypting DRM and its encryption and displaying the content on the screen of the mobile device (1) (107),
communicating with the server (6) by sending the information such as information on how much education content is displayed on the screen of the mobile device (1), examination results if the education content is an examination to the server (6) (108)
if the received request is not available in the offline content, downloading the related data as DRM added and encrypted from the server (6) and saving the data into the file system (4) (109).
The user can use the education content obtained by the inventive mobile device (1) and its operation system in an interactive way.
Mobile learning provided by the inventive mobile device (1) and its operation system is an education media which is available from the mobile devices in any time, in any place.
With the invention; professional education contents prepared for the Web media can be displayed on the devices (1), different interactive animation based educations can be received, animation based game contents can be used, multiplayer interactive educations can be designed in the devices (1), instant content sharing is allowable from the devices (1) and user feedbacks on the education can be received.
It is possible to develop a wide variety of embodiments of the inventive mobile device (1) and its operation system. The invention cannot be limited to the examples described herein and it is essentially according to the claims.
