Description

KETTLE FOR LIQUIDS, PARTICULARLY FOR DOMESTIC USE, WITH ELEMENTS FOR CONTROLLING THE FUNCTIONS THAT CAN BE PERFORMED Technical Field The present invention relates to a kettle for liquids, particularly for domestic use, with elements for controlling the functions that can be performed. Background Art

As is known, several types of kettles for water are already available commercially which generally speaking are constituted by a container inside which there is an electric resistor which is supplied with power when the container is arranged on a power supply stand.

In such embodiments, first of all there is high energy consumption that arises from the type of electric resistor used, which is typically placed in a mass of aluminum that must be heated in order to transmit heat to the base of the body of the kettle, increasing heat dispersion and therefore efficiency.

Another problem further consists in that with the solutions of the background art the kettle is provided in such a manner as to bring the water to a boiling without the possibility of automated temperature adjustment.

Another drawback further consists in that monitoring of the level of the water is only visual, using transparent windows provided on the body of the kettle.

Disclosure of the Invention The aim of the invention is to solve the problems described above, by providing a kettle for liquids, particularly for domestic use, with elements for controlling the functions that can be performed, which allows the possibility of adjusting at will the water heating temperature (from 45°C to 100⁰C), obtaining this function automatically and with the possibility of displaying digitally the reached temperature value. Within this aim, a particular object of the invention is to provide a kettle that makes it possible to achieve high energy saving with a reduction of the heating times.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a kettle which, thanks to its particular characteristics of construction, is capable of guaranteeing highest reliability and safety of use.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a kettle for liquids, particularly for domestic use, with elements for controlling the functions that can be performed, which can be obtained easily starting from commonly commercially available elements and materials and is also competitive from a merely economical point of view.

This aim, as well as these and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a kettle for liquids, particularly for domestic use, with elements for controlling the functions that can be performed, according to the invention, comprising a container body provided with a handle and provided internally with electric heating means, characterized in that it comprises means for displaying the functions of said kettle, which are connected functionally to the heating means and are arranged on the handle. With reference to the figures, the kettle for liquids, particularly for domestic use, with elements for controlling the functions that can be performed, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a container body 2, which is provided with a handle 3 and can be arranged on a power supply stand 4 equipped with a connection shoe 5 for the electrical connection of the electric heating means, generally designated by the reference numeral 10 and advantageously provided by a printed resistor which is applied on a steel disk 11 with a thickness of approximately 1 mm, which remains immersed in water and consequently achieves direct heating thereof.

One of the peculiarities of the invention consists in the fact that the control means of the heating means 10, as well as display means, are positioned directly in the handle 3.

The control means in the handle 3 are constituted by buttons 20 which act on a card 21 for supporting a printed circuit which forms a central unit that controls the power supply of the resistor, as well as a number of additional functions performed by level sensors 30 arranged on a supporting bar 31, which is located within the container body 2 and also supports a temperature sensor 40, which is connected to a thermostat for controlling the resistor 11.

Display means are provided on the handle and comprise digital displays, generally designated by the reference numeral 50, which allow highlighting of the several functions, such as the set temperature, the clock function, the timer function, and so forth; moreover, level indicators are provided being constituted by optical visualization notches 51 which indicate externally the level of the water detected by the sensors 30. The container body 2 is closed in an upward region by an overturning lid 15, on which a button 16 is provided which can be actuated by pressing in order to lift the lid allowing the filling of the container, which is provided with a delivery spout 17 having, on the area directed toward the container, a filter mesh 18. A reset button 60 is provided on the inner portion of the handle 3 and is designed to reset the several circuits.

In practical operation, the kettle can be set to bring the water to the selected temperature and, thanks to the presence of a battery which also is arranged within the handle, allows visualization of the several functions even when the container body is detached from the power supply stand.

From what has been described above it is evident that the invention achieves the proposed aim and objects, and in particular the fact is stressed that a kettle is provided with which there is first of all the possibility of setting the desired temperature and it is further possible to have available an immediate check of all the functions directly in the handle region, i.e., in a region that is correctly spaced from the region where water is provided and from the region where the highest heat is generated, thus enabling better preservation of integrity of the several circuits.

The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.

All the details may further be replaced with other technically equivalent elements.

In practice, the materials used, as long as they are compatible with the specific use, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to requirements.

The disclosures in Italian Patent Application No. MI2009A000986 from which this application claims priority are incorporated herein by reference.

Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly, such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.

Claims

1. A kettle (1) for liquids, particularly for domestic use, with elements for controlling the functions that can be performed, comprising a container body (2) provided with a handle (3) and provided internally with electric heating means (10), characterized in that it comprises display means (50) for displaying the functions of said kettle (1), which are connected to said electric heating means (10) and are arranged on said handle (3).

2. The kettle according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises temperature sensors (40) connected to a thermostat that drives said electric heating means (10).

3. The kettle according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises level sensors (30), which are arranged on a bar (31) placed inside said container body (2) and are functionally associated with level indicators (51) arranged on said handle (3).

4. The kettle according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, on said handle (3), control means (20) for the control of said electric heating means (10).

5. The kettle according to claim 3, characterized in that said display means (50) comprise a digital indicator of the functions that can be set, as well as optical visualization notches (51) that constitute said level indicators.

6. The kettle according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a reset button (60) arranged on the inner portion of said handle (3).

7. The kettle according to claim 1, characterized in that said electric heating means (10) comprise a printed resistor that is applied on a steel disk
