Abstract
The invention comprises an assembly (1) for utilizing wave energy. The assembly (1) is simple and does not contain movable mechanical components whose movement is to be converted into energy. For the same reason, the assembly is extremely reliable in operation and, in contrast to the previously known techniques for utilizing wave energy, only requires a minimum of maintenance. The assembly (1) is typically anchored to the sea bed, so that the assembly follows the up and down movements of waves. These up and down movements are utilized for pressurizing water, following which the pressurized water may be used for driving turbines or be accumulated in high-lying reservoirs or be collected in e.g. hydrophore tanks. It is part of the invention that several assemblies (1) may be coupled together as modules, whereby the overall energy output may be increased in a simple manner to a desired level.
