Abstract
The invention relates to a method in which a relay station makes a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) in a backhaul link of a multi-carrier system, comprising the steps of: receiving backhaul downlink data through at least a first carrier or second carrier; transmitting an acknowledgement/not-acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) message for the backhaul downlink data through an uplink component carrier; and receiving new backhaul downlink data or repeated backhaul downlink data in accordance with the transmitted ACK/NACK message through at least the first carrier or second carrier, wherein said first carrier is a component carrier dedicated to the backhaul downlink between a base station and the relay station, and said second carrier is a component carrier used in both the backhaul downlink and an access downlink between the relay station and a relay station user equipment at different times.
