Abstract

A shock-wave applicator for Shock-wave medical treatment instruments, in particular for dermatology or aesthetic medicine, comprises a suction devices made of a substantially tubular member placed at the front end of the shockwave applicator which forms together with the applicator itself a suction chamber connected to a suction pump for creating a vacuum in the suction chamber. A suction aperture of the tubular member touches the biological tissue to be treated which is sucked in the suction chamber and gets in touch with the shock-wave transmission membrane of the applicator. The pressure core produced by the applicator remains within the suction chamber and it only affects the soft tissues sucked in the chamber. A strong reduction of pain associated to this kind of therapies is obtained together with a reduction of the noisiness of the shock-wave applicator.
