Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Bipolarplatte (1) zur sandwichartigen Anordnung zwischen zwei Membran-Elektroden-Einheiten (MEE) einer Brennstoff- oder Elektrolysezelle, umfassend eine aus einem ersten Material bestehende Grundstruktur (2), in der auf voneinander abgewandten Stirnseiten (9) jeweils eine zur Oberfläche hin offene Kanalstruktur (11, 12, 13) mit einem Flussfeld (F) ausgebildet ist, und eine in die Grundstruktur (2) integrierte Leiterstruktur aus einem leitfähigen zweiten Material, die unter Ausbildung von oberflächlichen elektrischen Kontaktstellen (19-24) zumindest bis an die Oberfläche beider Stirnseiten (9) der Grundstruktur (2) reicht und eine die Grundstruktur (2) durchdringende elektrisch leitende Verbindung zwischen den auf den verschiedenen Stirnseiten (9) gebildeten Kontaktstellen (19-24) herstellt. Dabei ist vorgesehen, dass die Leiterstruktur eine Mehrzahl an elektrisch leitfähigen Elementen (3-8) umfasst, die mit einem abschließenden Rand jeweils wenigstens eine Kontaktstelle (19-24) auf der jeweiligen Stirnfläche (9) bilden. Ferner liegen die Kontaktstellen (19-24) in Draufsicht auf die betreffende Stirnseite (9) der Bipolarplatte (1) innerhalb des Flussfelds (F) der Kanalstruktur (11, 12, 13) und sind zwischen den dort vorgesehenen und ausschließlich durch das Material der Grundstruktur (2) begrenzten Kanälen (11) der Kanalstruktur (11, 12, 13) angeordnet.
