Abstract

A vehicle antenna device is disclosed which is secured to the outside of a vehicle and receives signals. The vehicle antenna device comprises: a broadcast antenna for receiving broadcast signals, in which at least two dielectric structures formed with an electrically conductive pattern on the surface are overlapped one on top of the other so as to form a single radiation pattern; a printed circuit board formed with a connecting pattern for making an electrical connection between an electricity supply pattern connected to a signal-receiving cable and the electrically conductive patterns of each of the dielectric structures; a case of which the bottom is open and the inside is empty, for housing the broadcast antenna and the printed circuit board; and a base of which the upper surface supports the printed circuit board and the lower surface is attached to the vehicle body, and which is coupled to the lower part of the case. By using an antenna having a novel structure instead of a helical antenna, the vehicle antenna device has the advantage that it can receive not only DMB signals but also signals broadcast using AM, FM or the like while taking up only a small amount of space on the vehicle body.
