Abstract
The invention relates to a control unit for controlling a machine used in automation engineering, the control unit (9) comprising a proximity-sensitive screen (3). A keyboard (4) is arranged in front of the screen (3) and has mechanical keys which produce, when struck, a haptic feedback to the user. The control unit is designed such that the position of the finger or a stylus (12) relative to the screen (3) can be detected and the detected position of the finger or stylus (12) can be used to determine which key (5) has been struck when a key (5) of the keyboard (4) is struck, due to the proximity of the finger or of the stylus (12) to the screen (3). The control unit (9) according to the invention withstands detrimental environmental influences and allows a user to realize that a key (5) of the control unit (9) has been struck without the need of actually looking at the control unit (9).
