Description
EXTRACTABLE HOB
The present invention concerns an extractable hob. More in particular, the invention relates to a hob of the said kind for kitchen furniture, but also for transportable cooking apparatuses.
The problem the present invention is intended to solve relates to the more and more limited room available in modern kitchens, but the proposed solution allows at the same time for increasing safety in the kitchen. It is known that kitchens in modern houses, in particular those in recently built flats, have more and more restricted spaces, in which a higher and higher number of electrical appliances must find room: refrigerator, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher are by now components that can not be given up of any kitchen. Moreover, the space available on the so called work tops, those surfaces left free to allow for the preparation of food before and after cooking, but also simply for putting plates or pots, is by now more and more often engaged by appliances such as coking robots and other kitchen electrical appliances, but also by other appliances that, even if having little bearing with the art of cooking, by now have become "essential", such as for example television sets.
In this context enters the solution according to the present invention, offering to provide an extractable hob, integrated in a common kitchen piece of furniture, in case in addition to a traditional hob.
The solution according to the invention is particularly advantageous especially because it consists of a device that can be realised with substantially limited costs, both as far production costs and management costs is concerned.
A further advantage of the present invention is that of realising an extractable hob that is substantially simple, safe and reliable. It is therefore a specific object of the present invention an extractable hob for kitchen furniture or for transportable cooking apparatuses, comprising housing means when in closed position, having a smaller plan size and preferably inside the plan perimeter of the kitchen piece of furniture or transportable cooking apparatus, pulling out means and support means when in open position, having a bigger plan size, preferably almost completely outside of the plan perimeter of the kitchen piece of furniture or transportable cooking apparatus.
In particular, according to the present invention, the extractable hob, when in closed position can be housed in horizontal position below or on top of the fixed upper top of said kitchen piece of furniture or transportable cooking apparatus. Preferably, according to the invention, said pulling out means comprise slide guides and the extraction occurs at front or, alternatively, at a side of said kitchen piece of furniture or transportable cooking apparatus.
Always according to the invention, in case the hob extraction occurs at a side, then the hob can be divided in two parts, that can be extracted respectively on the right or on the left of said kitchen piece of furniture or transportable cooking apparatus.
Alternatively, according to the present invention, the extractable hob in closed position can be housed in vertical position below the upper top of said kitchen piece of furniture or transportable cooking apparatus.
Preferably, always according to the invention, said pulling out means comprise hinges constraining said extractable hob to a wall of said kitchen piece of furniture or transportable cooking apparatus.
Moreover, according to the present invention, said support means when in open position can comprise supporting legs or brackets.
Preferably, always according to the invention, said extractable hob comprise electrical cooking plates, more preferably of the induction type.
Alternatively, said extractable hob is supplied with gas and comprises an extra length of supplier flexible hose.
The present invention will be described, for illustrative non limitative purposes, according to preferred embodiments, with referencein particular to the figures of the enclosed drawings, wherein

- figure 15 shows a perspective view of the piece of furniture of figure 13, with the extractable hob shown in a completely open position.
Making preliminarly reference to figures 1 and 2, a kitchen piece of furniture is shown, in particular a module provided with hob and oven, referred to as a whole with the numeric reference 10, and comprising a fixed hob 11 and an oven 12. Just below the fixed hob 11 , it is arranged an extractable hob 13, supported by legs 14 that can be extracted at front as shown in figure 2. Obviously, it is perfectly equivalent, and can be realised by a person skilled in the art with obvious modifications, the solution wherein the extraction of the extractable hob 13 occurs at a side. The advantage of this kind of solution can be understood immediately, being that of allowing for a duplication of the available burners and thus coping with situations in which it is necessary to cook many different corse at the same time. Obviously, the number of burners of each hob can be different, allowing for having the highest flexibility depending on the fact that it is more important to reduce at a maximum degree the overall dimensions or to have a high number of burners at disposal. In the fisrt case, as an example, it will be possile to provide for two burners on the fixed hob and two burners on the extractable hob.
Preferably, according to the present invention, the extractable hob is an electric hob, and still more preferably it is of the induction type. In this case, no specific realization expedient are necessary for the supply of the cooking points.
On the contrary, when the extractable hob is supplied with gas, it is necessary to provide for an extra length of gas supplier flexible hose. With reference to figures 3 and 4, it is shown the same kitchen piece of furniture 10 of figures 1 and 2, shown in section to schematically show the cooking gas circuit, referred to as a whole with the numeric reference 15. In particular, it is shown the cooking gas supplying flexible hose 16, having an extra length sufficient to allow for following the sliding forward of the extractable hob 13. Figures 5 and 6 show a different kind of kitchen piece of furniture, referred to as a whole with the numeric reference 20, provided with a work top 21 and drawers 22, and incorporating the extractable hob 13 of the present invention, respectively shown in a closed and in an open position. This em bodiment allows for obtaining an additional work top compared with the same kitchen furnished with traditional furniture, and at the same time allows for increased safety, since, once finished cooking,
the hob 13 can be closed and no hot surfaces remain uncovered and can be touched and cause burns.
Figures 7 and 8 show a further kitchen piece of furniture, also for transport, referred to as a whole with the numeric reference 30, provided with fixed hob 11 , oven 12 and wheels 31 , incorporating a variant of the extractable hob of the present invention, referred to with the numeric reference 32. The extractable hob 32 is arranged on top of the fixed hob 11 and can slide at a side of it by means of guides (not shown). In the embodiment shown, this pieceof furniture being also suitable for being moved to open areas, the extractable hob 32 lays on two extractable brackets 33. Obviously, the extractable hob arranged on top of the fixed hob can be realised also on kitchen furniture. In particular, in case an extractable hob of this kind is arranged on a fixed kitchen piece of furniture, its lateral extraction can besupported directly by the work top of the adjacent piece of furniture. Lastly, this kind of extractable hob can also be realised in two parts, respectively extractable at a side on the right and at a side on the left of the fixed hob.
Figures 9 and 10 show another kitchen piece of furniture, referred to as a whole with the numeric reference 40, provided with work top 41 and chest of drawers 42, and incorporating the extractable hob 13 of the present invention, respectively shown in a closed and in an open position. The kitch en piece of furniture 40 is further pr ovided with an extractable shelf 43, hidden behind a tip-top panel 44, on which an electric oven 45 is arranged. Similarly to the embodiment shown with reference to figures 5 and 6, this embodiment also allows for obtaining an additional work top compared with the same kitchen furnished with traditional furniture, and at the same time allows for increased safety, allowing, once finished cooking, for closing both the hob 13 and the oven 45 in the respective housings. Figures 11 and 12 show a kitchen furniture assembly, as a whole referredto with 50, on top of which the same single work top 51 is placed and comprising a kitchen piece of furniture 5 2, in particular a module provided with an oven 53, incorporating a fifth embodiment of the extractable hob 54 according to the present invention, respectively shown in a closed position and in an open position. In particular, the hob 54, in a closed position, completely covers a fixed hob 55, and its extraction at a side is directly supported by the single work top.
Lastly figures 13, 14 and 15 show a further kitchen piece of furniture, in particular a reduced depth module, referred to asawhole with the numeric reference 60, incorporating an extractable hob 61 according to an alternative embodiment of the present invention, respectively shown in a closed position, partially open and totally open.
In this embodiment, the extractable hob 61 iscoupled with the kitchen piece of furniture 60 by means of hinges (not shown), allowing the hob 61 can rotate from a closed position, in which the hob 61 is housed in vertical position below the upper top 62 of said kitchen piece of furniture 60, ad an open position in which the hob 61 is in horizontal position. Passing from the closed position to the open position, the upper top 62 of said kitchen piece of furniture 60 rotates together with the hob 61. The shutters 63 of the kitchen piece of furniture 60, in an almost completely oeen position, have the fungtion of vertical supports for the hob 61. Conveniently, the lower surface 64 of the upper top 62 iscovered with an easy to clean material, becoming a screen protecting the wall from possible spurts.
The present invention was described for illustrative non limitative purposes, according to preferred embodiments, but it has to be understood that variations and/or modifications canbe made by the skilled in the art without for this reason escaping the relative scope of protection, as defined by the enclosed claims.
