Abstract
The present invention relates to a solar cell in which light energy is directly converted to electrical energy. The present invention in particular relates to a thin film solar cell of the Grätzel type, comprising at least one bismuth compound as a light-absorbing component. The present invention further relates to a thin film solar cell of the Grätzel type, wherein a bismuth compound functions as an electron or hole conductor, wherein the bismuth compound is preferably present in nanoparticle form.
