Abstract
The invention relates to a medical implant having a grid structure (10), which comprises grid webs (11) and can be transferred into a compressed state I for introducing it into a delivery system and into an expanded state II for implanting it, wherein the grid webs (11) each have a longitudinal extension (11a) and a transverse extension (11b). The invention is characterized in that the grid webs (11) can be folded along the longitudinal extensions (11a) thereof such that they are folded in the compressed state I and deployed in the expanded state II, wherein the transverse extension (11b) of the deployed grid webs (11) in the expanded state II is larger than the transverse extension (11b) of the folded grid webs (11) in the compressed state I and the deployed grid webs (11) form a covering surface (12) in the expanded state II.
