Abstract
Optical devices are disclosed. The optical device includes an optical microresonator (180) and a bus waveguide (185). The bus waveguide is optically coupled to the optical microresonator. The center of a resonant mode in the optical microresonator and the center of a guided mode in the bus waveguide are horizontally and vertically offset relative to each other.
