Abstract

The present invention relates to a variable displacement swash plate type compressor capable of providing a simplified and light weight assembly structure of a swash plate and a rug plate. A variable displacement swash plate type compressor, having a cylinder block with plural cylinder bores, a drive shaft rotatably supported in the cylinder block, a rug plate fixedly mounted on the drive shaft, a swash plate arranged to have a variable tilt angle during rotation by the rug plate, and a piston arranged inside the cylinder bore to reciprocate by rotation of the swash plate, comprises: a protruded portion projected towards the swash plate from the rear surface of the rug plate, the protruded portion being formed at only one side; an inclined plane formed at the other side of the rear surface of the rug plate; an arm formed at the swash plate and projected towards the rug plate; and a moving roller that rolls along the inclined plane while the roller is being rotatably attached to the arm, wherein the protruded portion of the rug plate comes into direct contact with one side of the arm to transmit rotating power. Therefore, the facilitated manufacturing process reduces manufacturing costs of such a compressor, and the compressor's reduced weight can improve fuel economy of automobiles even more.
