Abstract
A system having plural input devices for sensing motion of a subject and controlling execution of a character in a video game is disclosed. The input devices can detect three-dimensional movement of portions of the player's body and provide data representative of the movements to a system executing the game. Each plural input device includes motion-sensing apparatus and can be attached to a location on the subject. Data from the plural input devices, e.g., representative of motion of any combination of the subject's hands, feet, knees, hips, elbows, and head can be used by a processing system to control the visual action of the video-game character. The player's movements in three-dimensional (3D) space allow the player to control an in- game character. The present invention provides an intuitive way to play a game by attaching one or more input devices directly to the body.
