Description

Apparatus for controlled distribution of detergent solutions
The present invention relates to an apparatus for the controlled distribution of detergent solutions for cleaning and maintenance rooms .
Currently, in order to perform operations of cleaning and maintenance environments, each operator has to be provided with a container with the detergent product to be used. The diluted product can already be prepackaged in containers of a preset volume that the operator removes from a storeroom according to need or can be obtained from a concentrated solution that is diluted, for example with water. The operation of diluting the concentrate can be performed by the operator . This system has numerous drawbacks.
First of all, the need to maintain a storeroom in which the products to be used are stored, which entails the need to have a great number of containers for the various products, in particular in the case of already-diluted products. This entails a significant waste of space for storing products, for example in the case of cleaning concerns that serve a large number of users .
Further, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to conduct a check of the quantity of product used by each operator, with the risk that there is a considerable waste of products .
Lastly, the possible operation of diluting a concentrated solution performed by the operator may easily be imprecise, inasmuch as the operator is not able to estimate exactly the quantity of water to be added to the concentrated solution. This may lead to waste in the use of the concentrated solutions of detergent products .
The present invention aims to remedy the aforesaid drawbacks . According to the present invention there is provided an apparatus for the controlled distribution of detergent solutions characterised in that it comprises a body inside which there is defined a space in which there is arranged a plurality" of tanks, each containing a concentrated solution of a detergent product, first dispensing means for dispensing controlled quantities of said concentrated solution in a container, second dispensing means for dispensing water in said container and checking means for checking the quantity of said concentrated solution and of said water dispensed in said container. Owing to the invention it is possible to reduce drastically the quantity of containers of products to be maintained in store, inasmuch as only concentrated solutions are used that have a much smaller volume than the diluted solutions of the detergent products and dilution is carried out automatically only at the moment of use of the product, by filling the container intended for an operator.
The apparatus according to the invention is further provided with command and control means for programming and controlling the quantity of product to be dispensed to each single operator and is provided with memory means for memorising the quantity of each product used by each operator .
This enables the use that each operator makes of each product to be ascertained with precision, thus avoiding all waste. Further features and advantages of the invention will be clear from the disclosure that follows that is provided purely by way of non- limiting example, with reference to the attached drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a front view of an apparatus according to the invention; Figure 2 is a front view of the inside of the apparatus in Figure 1/
Figure 3 is a left-hand view of the inside of the apparatus in Figure 1 Figure 4 is a partial right-hand view of the inside of the apparatus in Figure 1;
Figure 4 is a view like the one in Figure 2, relating to a version of the apparatus according to the invention. An apparatus 1 according to the invention comprises a body 2 inside which there is defined a space 3 (Figure 2) that is accessible through a door 4 provided in the front part of the apparatus 1. The door 4 can be provided with a lock 5 for being locked in a closing position.
In a wall of the body 2 of the apparatus 1, for example in the door 4, a gap 6 is obtained into which a container 7 is insertible that is intended for being filled with the detergent product to be used.
In the space 3 there is provided a plurality of removable tanks 8, each of which is intended for containing a concentrated solution of a detergent product . Each tank • 8 is connected by a respective conduit 9 to a respective dosing pump 10 that removes a preset quantity of concentrated solution of detergent product from the respective tank 8 and sends the solution to a dispensing conduit 11 that leads into said gap 6. The preset quantity of detergent product is introduced by the dispensing conduit 11 into a container 7 arranged inside the gap 6.
The dispensing conduit 11 is further connected to a flow metering device 12, for example a litre-counter, that, from a further conduit 13 is connectable by means of a connecting element 22 to a water system to supply the dispensing conduit 11 with water for diluting the concentrated solution of detergent product introduced into the container 7. The flowmeter 12 can be associated with a pump, in which the pressure of the water system to which the apparatus 1 is connected is not sufficient to ensure the supply of the dispensing conduit 11.
The litre-counter 12, with the possible pump associated therewith, is further connected, by a still further conduit 18, to a dispensing gun 19, by means of which an operator can remove water from the water system. Suitable switching valves 20 and 21 are provided for selecting the conduit 11, or 18 to which to send the water removed from the water system.
In order to complete the filling of a container 7 into which a preset quantity of concentrated detergent solution has been introduced, the water, removed from the water system through the further conduit 13 , is sent to the dispensing conduit 11 by means of which it is introduced into the container 7. The quantity of water to be introduced into the container 7 depends on the quantity of concentrated solution of detergent product introduced into the container 7 and on the degree of dilution of the product that it is desired to obtain.
In order to ensure that the quantity of water introduced is the same as is required to obtain the desired dilution, in the gap 6 there is provided a weighing device 14 associated with a shelf 15 on which the container 7 rests. The weighing device 14 may comprise a load cell 23, which detects the weight of the container 7 and the variations of said weight during the steps of filling the container 7. The dosing pumps 10, the litre-counter 12 with the possible pump associated therewith and the weighing device 14 are connected to a command and control device 16, for example a microprocessor device, which controls the operations of the apparatus 1.
In the command and control device 16 the quantities of concentrated solution of each detergent product to be dispensed into a container 7 and the quantities of water required to dilute each detergent product are memorised. The command and control device 16 is associated with a keyboard 17, by means of which an operator can select the type of product to be introduced into the container 7 and command the startup of the operation of filling the container 7.
When an operator has selected the type of product to be introduced into the container 7 and has enabled the startup of the filling cycle, the command and control device 16 activates the dosing pump 10 associated with the tank 8 that contains the concentrated solution of preselected product that is introduced into the container 7 through the dispensing conduit 11. The quantity of concentrated solution introduced into the container 7 is detected by the command and control device 16 by means of the weighing device 14. When the weight of concentrated solution introduced into the container 7 is equal to the weight of the preset quantity of concentrated solution to be introduced, the command and control device 16 commands the stop of the dosing pump 10, enables the removal of water from the water system connected to the apparatus 1 through the further conduit 13 and the dispatch thereof to the dispensing conduit 11, which feeds the water into the container 7.
When the weight of the water introduced into the container 7, detected by the command and control device 16 by means of the weighing device 14 , reaches the value corresponding to the quantity of water necessary to obtain the desired dilution of the detergent product, the command and control device 16 disables the removal of water from the water system. At this point the container 7 containing the diluted detergent product can be removed by the operator.
In the command and control device 16 codes can be memorised that are associated with each operator who uses the apparatus 1 according to the invention. These codes are used for verifying the actual use of the detergent products by each single operator.
In fact, each operator, in order to be able to activate the dispensing of a detergent product from the apparatus 1, will have first to key in a personal code on the keyboard 17. In this manner, the command and control device 16 can associate the quantity of each product used by the operator with the code of each operator, and memorise the quantity of each product used by the operator. Further, if the quantity of product used by an operator over a preset time interval exceeds a maximum preset value the command and control device can inhibit the use of the apparatus 1 by said operator. This is particularly advantageous as it enables product waste by operators to be avoided, which waste often leads to significant increases of costs.
The command and control device 16 can be further associated with a remote data-transmitting device, for transmitting data, relating to the use of the apparatus 1 and to the quantities of detergent products dispensed, to a remote control centre, so that said centre can, for example, ascertain in good time the need to refill one or more tanks 8 with concentrated solution of the respective detergent product. This enables it to be ensured that interruptions to the operation of the apparatus 1 cannot occur that are due to the concentrated solution of detergent product in one of more of the tanks 8 being finished. In figure 5 there is illustrated a version of the apparatus 1 according to the invention, in which the dosing pumps 10 are replaced by pumps 24 with each of which a respective litre- counter device is associated by means of which the command and control' device 16 can check the quantity of concentrated detergent solution removed from each tank 8 and sent to a container 7.
In the practical embodiment, the materials, dimensions and constructional details may be different from those indicated but be technically equivalent thereto without thereby falling outside the scope of the present invention, as defined by the claims .
