Abstract

The invention relates to an intelligent sensor for a motor vehicle, which is designed to record a parameter, particularly an acceleration or a distance, and to generate a data record representing the parameter. The sensor also has a sensor clock generator that is designed to generate a cycle signal which represents a clock pulse for transmitting the data record. The sensor is also designed to communicate with a master according to a communication protocol and to transmit the data record to the master during a time window formed by a time segment while applying the communication protocol, depending on a clock pulse generated by the sensor clock generator. According to the invention, the sensor clock generator is designed to alter the clock frequency of the clock pulse for transmitting the data record depending on a control signal representing a clock frequency of the clock pulse. The sensor additionally comprises a clock controller, which is designed to generate the carrier signal such that the clock frequency of the sensor clock generator corresponds to the determined clock frequency of the master clock pulse.
