Abstract

An adjustable power-cable boom (10) for an electrical tool, comprises at least one clamp element (12) for releasably clamping the boom (10) to a support, an arm member (14) which is angularly adjustable at least partway along its longitudinal extent, and at least one attachment element (16) at or adjacent to an end of the arm member (14) for releasably attaching an electrical power cable (18) to the arm member (14). The arm member (14) is pivotably mountable to the clamp element (12) via a releasable ball joint (54). A ball (56) of the ball joint (54) is on one of the clamp element (12) and the arm member (14), and the other of the clamp element (12) and arm member (14) includes a clamp (60) for releasably holding the ball (56) pivotably captive. Preferably, the clamp element (12) is detachable from the arm member (14), and further preferably a plurality of different interchangeable said clamp elements (12) is provided. In this later case, each said clamp element (12) is removably attachable to the arm member (14) via the releasable ball joint (54) for releasably clamping the boom (10) to a variety of differently shaped supports.
