Abstract

A rotary organizer which stores art and craft supplies and tools in a vertical format. This invention saves time, space and effort when searching for a specific item. It provides storage in a minimum space. This product obviates wasteful situations where: A/ supplies and tools are contained loosely in a case or box, or B/ are fanned out onto an horizontal surface. This organizer comprises a bracket (40) between two vertical panels (30) as secured onto a level platform (10), which is hand- turned by a rotary base (60). Detachable shelves (20) or accessories are secured onto the panels (30) at varying locations. Each shelf (20) comprises multi-standard slots (6,7). Each slot secures a paint tube by its cap. Each shelf (20) alternatively permits the storage of paint and ink bottles, jars, etc. The space between the panels (30) permits storage of corresponding items, in a sliding tray (50). The panels (30) can be mounted and used independently of the base.

Also, paint tube manufacturers market their paint tube selections in non-standard, proprietarily-designed tubes and caps, in their respective dispensing racks The racks allow the singular display of each respective manufacturer's selection, they are not readily available for retail purchase DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
The present invention is a two-sided, rotary organizer with a small footprint It allows the quickest access to an artist or craft person's paint, tool or supplies selection, while at work in the studio or classroom It is constructed in accordance with the principles of the present invention to provide storage of artist paint tubes, bottles, jars, brushes, craft supplies, tools and sundries, in a vertical format
This apparatus is versatile in storing all or a mix of either paint tubes, bottles, jars, brushes and some craft supplies and tools, from most of their respective manufacturers It obviates the user's frustration of looking for a specific color or item since all colors or items are clearly separate and organized It is supplied with three shelves per side for the average user The user can reposition and secure all shelves to customize storage The shelves store 2 oz jars or bottles of paint and most ink bottles on its planar surface and are secured by lateral catches onto one panel, by a vertical pane at each end The panel's apertures and tabs receive and secure the majority of manufactured paint tubes, the panels can also be secured onto a wall or door The base shelves are the resting space for brushes, pencils, knives, or other narrow tools Between the two angled vertical panels is a level platform where a sliding tray receives the storage of other items, i e solvents, linseed oil, glue, rag, etc The bridging unit at the top receives and secures the vertical panels together, it also receives and secures tools that match its aper- tures, such as brushes
Commercial organizers offered to artists or craft persons are limited in their utility Typically, an artist or craft person stores the above named items in a shoe box, in a commercially-built case, in a backpack, in a portable gear or tackle bin In the process of their work, access to these storage styles wastes space, time and effort For example a briefcase storage style located near the artist or craft person at work usually lies horizontally, so that the organized paint tubes, bottles, jars, brushes and craft supplies and tools are reached with a certain effort, which increases with the number of items If not organized, the jumbled contents require time and effort to be separated and selected, when searching for a specific color or a single item
Also In the portable art bin case, the built-in extending drawers are too few and inadequately shaped for complete, appropriate organized storage and are positioned awkwardly in reaching for a specific item, when the reach is horizontal Because the drawers remain horizontal when extended up and outwardly, the drawers' contents face the ceiling in lieu of facing the user In the bin's bottom space, below the folding drawers, the contents become jumbled in a narrow or shallow space Consequently, the tubes get dinged, leak and are stained with paint, as would also occur in a shoe box , in a backpack, and in briefcase storages, therefore, they are not immediately recognizable nor accessible
