Abstract

The present invention relates to an ink viscosity regulating apparatus which is installed on an ink flow path in a printer and regulates the viscosity of ink. The ink viscosity regulating apparatus comprises a housing, an isolation member, a valve unit, and an ink flux control unit. The housing includes a solvent inlet section (S1) with an inlet for solvent, an ink mixing section (S2) with an inlet for ink, and an ink outlet section (S3) with an outlet to discharge ink. The isolation member is installed between the solvent inlet section (S1) and the ink mixing section (S2). The valve unit is installed on the isolation member and selectively allows connection between the solvent inlet section (S1) and the ink mixing section (S2) so that the solvent in the solvent inlet section (S1) flows into the ink mixing section (S2). The ink flux control unit varies the flow rate of ink according to the viscosity of ink flowing from the ink mixing section (S2) to the ink outlet section (S3).
