Definitions

  • this twin-mirror design generates an impression of depth to the simulated flames which improves the similarity to a conventional fire.
  • the partial reflection of the light back in to the interior space causes an illusion of depth as the light bounces between the reflective and partially reflective surfaces. This gives the impression that the ember bed is far deeper than it actually is which in turn creates a far more realistic simulated fire,
  • This feature generates a particularly advantageous effect.
  • the flickering light that is projected onto the rear of the rear mirror simulates flames that appear to rise from the simulated ember bed. This image is then reflected between the reflective and partially reflective surfaces to create an impression of depth to the flame image which complements the impression of depth of the simulated ember bed.
  • the combined effect of an impression of depth in the ember bed and the flame imagery is particularly effective in generating a realistic fire simulation.
  • the flicker element is arranged beneath the simulated ember bed so as to reflect light from the light source through the simulated ember bed.
