PatXML 1/8 BB1553-7.778
Description
AN OVEN
[0001] The present invention relates to an oven comprising a door having a limited number of parts, which can be assembled easily and rapidly.
[0002] Various embodiments have been developed for decreasing thermal losses in oven doors and keeping the door below a certain temperature. A multiple number of panels used in the door designs, preferably including glass, that are employed for lowering the temperature of the outer panel on the door are mounted inside the door by fastening elements, adhesion, snap-fitting or similar connection methods. Use of detailed fastening elements for each glass increases both the number of parts and also the duration of assembly.
[0003] In the state of the art European Patent Application No EP1030116, an oven door is described comprising an inner and outer panel and an intermediate panel in between these panels. A spring element is disposed between the intermediate and the inner panels and the spring element comprises an arm which enables exerting force on the spring element.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven comprising a door wherein the panels can be assembled rapidly and easily.
[0005] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a biasing means having an effort arm that is secured to the side wall of the frame, which extends outside the frame and whereon force is exerted, a supporting surface situated at the continuance of the said arm, configured by bending a plate that passes over the frame and extends towards inside the frame in the horizontal plane and whereon the inner panel is secured and a pressure arm which is formed by bending the plate inwards at the continuance of the supporting surface, that exerts pressure on the surface of the intermediate panel facing the inner panel in the vertical plane.
[0006] By means of the biasing means, while the inner panel is mounted on the door, the intermediate panel is locked between the panels and on the frame at the same time. Moreover, the inner panel and the intermediate panel can be easily disassembled from the door by the user or the PatXML 2/8 BB1553-7.778
maintenance personnel.
[0007] The effort arm is shaped like a "V" and when mounted on the frame, one side projects out from the frame and the other side stands virtually parallel to the side wall of the frame. The pressure arm, when mounted on the frame, is configured like a "V", formed by bending one side from the supporting surface toward the intermediate panel, and the other toward the side wall of the frame.
[0008] In an embodiment of the present invention, a receptacle is provided on the supporting surface wherein the adhesive used for securing the inner panel is accumulated. Thus, the adhesive does not overflow out of the receptacle.
[0009] In another embodiment of the present invention, one or more supporting members are provided on the supporting surface, that extend towards the inner panel and whereon the inner panel is seated. The supporting members maintain to preserve the distance between the biasing means and the inner panel.
[0010] In another embodiment of the present invention, a handle, produced of a heat resistant material, is mounted on the effort arm of the biasing means so that the user can exert force on the effort arm without being affected from the heat. Accordingly, the user or the maintenance personnel can easily exert pressure on the effort arm by means of the handle.
[0011] The assembly/disassembly of the panels on the door is made easier by means of the present invention.
[0012] An oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

[0022] The oven (1) comprises a cooking chamber (2) wherein the items to be cooked are emplaced, a door (3) for accessing the cooking chamber (2), an outer panel (4) disposed on the door (3) and forming the surface of the door (3) in contact with the exterior, an inner panel (5) forming the surface of the door (3) in contact with the cooking chamber (2), a frame (7) having a quadrangular cross section, situated in between the outer panel (4) and the inner panel (5), whereto the outer panel (4) is secured on one side and the inner panel (5) on the other side such that they are parallel to one another and an intermediate panel (6) disposed in the frame (7) such that it remains between the outer panel (4) and the inner panel (5) (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
[0023] The frame (7) comprises a step (16) disposed at such a level that the intermediate panel (6) is kept at a certain distance between the outer panel (4) and the inner panel (5) and whereon the intermediate panel (6) is PatXML 4/8 BB1553-7.778
seated.
[0024] The oven (1) comprises a biasing means (9) that is fastened to the side wall (8) of the frame (7), configured by bending a metal plate. The biasing means (9) comprises an effort arm (10) that extends outside the frame (7) and whereon force is exerted when mounted on the frame (7), a supporting surface (11) situated at the continuance of the effort arm (10), configured by bending a plate, that passes over the frame (7) and extends towards inside the frame (7) and whereon the inner panel (5) is secured and a pressure arm (12) which is formed by bending the plate inwards at the continuance of the supporting surface (11), that exerts pressure on the surface of the intermediate panel (6) facing the inner panel (5) in the vertical plane.
[0025] By means of the biasing means (9), both the intermediate panel (6) can be assembled between the panels (4, 5 and 6) by adjusting the distance between the inner panel (5) and the intermediate panel (6) and also the intermediate panel (6) can be easily dislodged by the user or the maintenance personnel thereby providing service.
[0026] The effort arm (10) is shaped like a "V" and when the biasing means (9) is mounted on the frame (7), one side projects out from the frame (7). And the other side stands virtually parallel to the side wall (8) of the frame (7). The pressure arm (12) is configured like a "V" with one side extending from the supporting surface (11) toward the intermediary panel (6) and the other side towards the side wall (8) of the frame (7) when the biasing means (9) is mounted on the frame (7) (Figure 3, Figure 4 and Figure 5).
[0027] In an embodiment of the present invention, the frame (7) comprises a recess (14) disposed on the outer side of the side wall (8), and the biasing means (9) comprises a detent shaped protrusion (18) situated on the side of the effort arm (10) facing the side wall (8) of the frame (7), which stretches to be inserted into the recess (14) while being mounted on the frame (7) and prevents thereof separating from the side wall (8) of the frame (7) by exerting pressure on the side wall (8) of the frame (7) and when pressure is exerted on the effort arm (10) stretches backwards dislodging from the recess (14) and causes the biasing means (9) to PatXML 5/8 BB1553-7.778
separate from the side wall (8) of the frame (7). The protrusion (18) is at a lower level than the point where the pressure arm (12) presses on the intermediary panel (6) or where the step (16) is disposed. Consequently, the intermediary panel (6) is locked to the frame (7) from outside the frame (7) (Figure 6).
[0028] The panels (4, 5 and 6) are mounted on the door (3) as follows: Firstly, the frame (7) is affixed on the outer panel (4), preferably by adhesion, and the intermediate panel (6) is seated on the step (16). The intermediate panel
(6) is supported by the step (16) from underneath. While mounting the biasing means (9) on the frame (7), one side of the effort arm (10) is pushed until it is parallel to the side wall (8) of the frame (7). This movement continues until the protrusion (18) is seated in the recess (14) and the motion of the biasing means (9) on the frame (7) and ends when the protrusion (18) is seated in the recess (14). In this position, the supporting surface (11) is seated on the upper surface of the frame (7) and the pressure arm (12) presses on the intermediate panel (6) on the step (16).
[0029] After the assembly of the biasing means (9) on the frame (7) is completed, the inner panel (5) is affixed on the supporting surface (11) remaining on the frame (7) preferably by adhesion.
[0030] When the intermediate panel (6) is desired to be dislodged from the door (3), pressure is applied on the effort arm (10). As a result of this pressure, the edge of the effort arm (10) parallel to the side wall (8) moves away from the side wall (8) and the protrusion (18) is dislodged from the recess (14). When the protrusion (18) is dislodged from the recess (14), the biasing means (9), together with the inner panel (5) adhered on the supporting surface (11), is separated from the frame (7) and the inner panel (5) is disassembled from the door (3). Accordingly, the intermediate panel (6) can be accessed easily and thereby the intermediate panel (6) can be separated from the door (3) by being disassembled from the frame
(7) (Figure 7 and Figure 8).
[0031] In an embodiment of the present invention, the biasing means (9) comprises a receptacle (13) on the supporting surface (11) wherein the PatXML 6/8 BB1553-7.778
adhesive used for securing the inner panel (5) accumulates. Thus, the adhesive does not overflow out of the receptacle (13).
[0032] In another embodiment of the present invention, the biasing means (9) comprises one or more supports (15) on the supporting surface (11) which extend towards the inner panel (5) and whereon the inner panel (5) is seated. The supports (15) maintain to preserve the distance between the biasing means (9) and the inner panel (5).
[0033] In another embodiment of the present invention, the biasing means (9) comprises a handle (17), produced of a heat resistant material, which is mounted on the effort arm (10) thereby enabling the user to exert force on the effort arm (10) without being affected by heat. Consequently, the user or the maintenance personnel can easily exert pressure on the effort arm (10) by means of the handle (17).
[0034] By means of the present invention, the assembly/disassembly of the panels (4, 5 and 6) on the door (3) is made easier whereby the inner and intermediate panels (5 and 6) can be easily disassembled by the maintenance personnel.
[0035] It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited by the embodiments disclosed above and an expert in the technique can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
