- the original eyelash butterfly guard is a device for use in the application of eye makeup according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the illustrated eyelash guard is designed to mold firmly around the bridge of the nose B, to fit perfectly under and over any size of eyes A1 , and to secure to both sides of the face C, thereby freeing the hands to apply makeup or to perform other procedures as described.
- FIG.1 shows a flat form of the device.
- Right side of the eyelash guard if folded at the centerline is the mirror image of the left side.
- FIG. 5-9 show the eyelash guard in a modified form, fitted to the user face. It shows the way to adjust and wear the device on the face FIG.5.
- FIG. 6-9 shows the way that this device works for protection under the eye area 1 A and eyelids 1 A for the application of eye makeup.
- the eyelash guard is very easy to adjust to fit and to use and comfortable to wear FIG. 5-9. It is manufactured with lightweight and thin materials. Consequently, the eyelash guard does not cause pressure upon the eyes or the surrounding area. However, the precise fit around the eyes 1A prevents the leakage of mascara under the aid as can happen with bulky and smooth plastic devices.
- the eyelash guard is comprises with three parts: the main body A of the device FIG.1 , FIG. 5-9; the molded nose control B that works as a size adjuster FIG. 1, FIG. 3, FIG. 5-9; the securing method C placed on both sides on the device FIG. 4-9.
- FIG.1 shows two points of connection of the securing part to the device.
- the main body A of the device FIG. 1, FIG. 5-9 can be made from non-glossy, hypoallergenic, mascara resistant paper or fabric. These kind of materials are semi-porous that able to hold eye makeup in liquid and powder form from sliding and leaking from the device down all over the user's face.
- One unit can be cut from a rectangle 185 mm long and 45 mm wide FIG.1.
- Plastic and other synthetic, non-breathable and glossy materials make face to sweat underneath right the way that damage the layer of makeup under the eyes placed before. Those materials stick to the skin and should be avoided in the manufacturing of the eyelash guard.
- the second part of the device is the molded nose control (size adjuster) B that located at the middle of the eyelash guard.
- FIG. 1, FIG. 3, FIG. 5-9. It is made from thin moldable metal. Type of metal, thickness, plasticity and ability to tightly hold U shape of the size adjuster is crucial. The user needs to bend the device at the middle over a small finger as a letter U. Fold slightly at the middle so ends can meet.
- the eyelash guard must mold firmly around the bridge of the nose B to assure perfect fit 1 A under eyes FIG. 5-9. Metal that is too soft is not able to hold a U shape when a device under the moderate extending tension of the elastic ear loops that secures eyelash guard on the face.
- the rectangle shape of this part is 45mm long and 4mm wide and 0,1mm thick FIG. 3, numbers 1B, 2B.
- the molded nose control (the size adjuster) connected on the upper side on the eyelash guard away from the skin FIG. 1 , FIG. 6-9.
- the method of securing the device to the user's face is two thin elastic ear loops C FIG. 5-9.
- the elastic ear loop FIG. 4 is 168 mm long. Two it ends 1C and 2C connected to each end piece of the device 1AC and 2AC .
- the right ear loop's connection side and ear loop length being identical to the left side.
- the device has a long flexible body A that curves along the eyelids and directly under eyelashes 1A protecting the delicate under the eyes area.
- Right side of the eyelash guard if folded at the centerline is the mirror image of the left side.
- the device is 185 mm long 1 and 45mm wide 2.
- the centerline 3 is 35mm. From the top point Z we are able to draw a curved line for the nose part. From the center line 3 to the line 5 that helps to draw half moon curves 1 A for the eyes 1 A the line 4 is 40mm. From this line 5 to the side of the eyelash guard, line 6 is 52,5mm. Broken line 5 is 20mm.
- the line 7 is 45mm.
- the smooth line that confirms the nose shall be rounded from the point P; the line 8 is 7mm. From P until S is 45mm.
- the broken line 9 is 20mm and it makes easy to round the bottom of the nose curve. From the bottom point of the nose curve to the bottom line of the B metal size adjuster 10 is 5mm.
- the device has two sides that especially were designed to connect elastic ear loops C. From the top side corner of the device until the beginning of the eye curve 11 is 25mm. The side of the device 12 is 25mm. From the top side corner to the point of the elastic ear loop connection 1AC and from the bottom side corner until the elastic ear loop connection 2AC is 6mm. We smoothed out d and e edges of the top four corners that belong to the eye curves. The length of the radius r of all four corners the same is 6mm.
- the FIG. 2 is an enlarged partial view of those corners.
- This product must be manufactured in a clean facility that can be suitable for the production of safe for health and body goods.
- Materials for the product and packaging must be very clean, non-toxic, latex, odor, and dust free. Parts of the product can be connected by the sonic fusion, glue, adhesive tape or other ways.
- the original eyelash butterfly guard can be manufactured utilizing very simple and low cost production processes because it complete of three parts and it made from recycle materials.
- the eyelash guard assists the user to achieve longer and fuller looking eyelashes. It improves and enhances the process for applying mascara to the eyelashes.
- the eyelash guard provides a protective surface A against which the mascara brush can operate firmly FIG.1 , FIG. 5-9.
- the user can apply an appropriate level of force all the way through the eyelashes, which allows for an even and complete mascara application without clumps and smears.
- the even coat of mascara seals every eyelash and it prevents black sheds and drops on the skin. It is impossible to attain such a result without utilizing of the original eyelash butterfly guard.
- the original eyelash butterfly guard helps to prevent the formation of wrinkles and dark circles by shielding the delicate under eye skin 1A from the harsh chemicals used during daily eye makeup removal.
- the unit Upon softly pressing the eyelashes against the eyelash guard A, the unit allows for the gentle cleansing of the eyelashes with a cotton swab saturated with eye makeup removal solution all the way through the eyelashes without forceful rubbing.
- the design of the eyelash guard encourages the diffusion of mascara on cotton swabs and on the protective shield thereby negating mascara diffusion upon the skin.
- the device helps to prevent eyelashes from falling out and eliminates the irritation of the eyes and eyelids. Also, it protects the skin from the pulling and stretching motions associated with unprotected eye makeup removal that contribute to formation of shadows and bags resulting from excessively stretched skin.
- eye makeup removal as enhanced by the eyelash guard, is easy and healthful.
