Abstract

 内燃機関の排気浄化装置は、PMを捕集するフィルタを排気通路に備える。排気浄化装置は、フィルタに堆積したPMの堆積量を推定する。排気浄化装置は、推定される堆積量が所定の再生処理開始値以上であることを条件に、内燃機関の運転状態を変更することによってPMを燃焼除去してフィルタのPM捕集能力を再生させる再生処理を実行する一方、推定される堆積量が所定の再生処理終了値以下であることを条件に、再生処理を終了する。排気浄化装置は、再生処理開始遅延部及び再生処理終了遅延部の少なくとも一方を備える。再生処理開始遅延部は、再生処理の開始時期をアクセルペダルの操作状態が変化するときまで遅延させる。再生処理終了遅延部は、再生処理の終了時期をアクセルペダルの操作状態が変化するときまで遅延させる。
