Abstract
L’invention concerne une centrale électrique atmosphérique effectuant la transformation d’énergie thermique en travail mécanique, puis en électricité, par l’exploitation du gradient de température entre les couches inférieures et les couches supérieures de l’atmosphère. Le dispositif selon l’invention met en œuvre le principe de la montgolfière. L’air humide, qui est le corps actif, présente une température moyenne supérieure à la température moyenne de l’air environnant, de sorte que la structure soit flottante. Pour obtenir de l’énergie supplémentaire afin de préserver la différence de température moyenne, la centrale électrique atmosphérique selon l’invention retransforme une partie du travail mécanique produit en énergie thermique. Pour réduire au minimum la différence de température nécessaire, le dispositif selon l’invention peut présenter une structure similaire à un ballon Rozière pourvu de chambres distinctes destinées à contenir un gaz de sustentation non chauffé (tel que de l’hydrogène ou de l’hélium). Lorsqu’elle se déplace sur la surface de l’eau, la centrale électrique selon l’invention peut reconstituer ses réserves d’hydrogène par la transformation de l’eau en hydrogène et en oxygène. Dans ce cas, une partie de l’hydrogène peut ensuite servir de combustible pour augmenter la température du corps actif. Une structure possible de la centrale électrique atmosphérique selon l’invention est présentée dans la Figure 1 : 1 – chambres destinées à contenir un gaz de sustentation non chauffé ; 2 – partie supérieure du ballon qui évacue la chaleur vers les couches supérieures de la troposphère ; 3 – partie inférieure du ballon qui absorbe la chaleur des couches inférieures de la troposphère ; 4 – turbine qui transforme une partie du travail mécanique en électricité ; 5 – dispositif chauffant qui fonctionne à l’électricité ou par combustion d’hydrogène ; 6 – unité utilitaire servant de ballast et pouvant contenir des accumulateurs électriques, un système de commande, une cabine de pilotage, des câbles et des tuyaux de raccord au sol, des douilles de connexion, etc.
