Description
DEVICE FOR COLLECTING PET DUNG AND KIT CONTAINING THEREOF
The utility model relates to the field of human vital requirement satisfaction, especially in domestic animal management and care, as well as in pet waste product and domestic garbage collection. There are many devices for those purposes in the background: RU2113162, RU2006112809, JP2004222554. US2008012366, FR2880240, JP2006101821, US2002056419, etc. All devices for collecting animal dung could be divided into several groups:
Portable lavatories for animals (e.g., US 4,555,132; US 4,042,269);
Various scoop constructions (e.g., US2008012366, JPl 1113437);
Tong, pincers (e.g., JP2003023903, JP2003274783);
Napkins, gloves, and other accessories requiring the direct contact between hands and waste (JP2007282556, JP2005046127).
In general, the stated devices are characterized by sufficient design bulkiness and construction complexity or require a tilt for performing a disposal. Moreover, most of those devices require to be washed and disinfected after use, or are disposable. Known are some devices using disposable packets: JPl 1113437,
JP10165030, JP7255309, JP8242719; however, these devices have also great sizes or require a tilt for using thereof.
No devices of the same intent have been found in the background, which combine compactness, easiness, comfort and hygienicity when employing. The present utility model is directed onto creating a light, compact, comfortable device for collecting animal dung, garbage, domestic waste, etc., which device excluding the direct user's contact with these waste.
The claimed result is achieved by that the device comprising two levers pivotally connected (like scissors). Each of the levers includes a clamp, a rod,
and a handle for operating the clamps, the rod being configured retractable. The handle constitutes the short haul of the lever, and the rod along with the clamp constitutes the long haul of the lever. Usually, the rods are made from hollow nesting tubes. Also, the handles could be foldable or expandable. The clamps and handles could be rotated relative to the rods in order for decreasing the whole size of the device. Preferably, the handles have respective slots for housing the rods and clamps.
In order for decreasing weight of the device, the clamps have perforation holes or cavities, or could be made in the form of frames disposed in parallel planes. Additionally, the device could comprise locking members and springs permitting to fix relative position of the handles, rods and clamps.
In the folded state, the rods are folded and rotated along the rods, the clamps are also rotated along the rods, and the entire device is a small penal that could be placed even in a vanity bag (the overall length of the device does not usually exceed 20 cm). In the operative (unfolded) condition, the device allows a person holding it in lowered hands to touch the ground with the clamps (the overall length ranges from 60 to 120 cm).
Usually, the device is made from metal (preferably, duralumin) or plastic. Movable joints (hinges), springs and locking members are usually made from steel.
The disclosed device is typically included into a kit for collecting waste including also a disposable packet being put on the clamps from outside. The packet material should be cheap and rather elastic, and the packet should be formed such that the clamps could be moved at operative amplitude within the packet. Usually the packets are made from plastic (polymer) or paper. Preferably, the packet comprises an additional pocket where waste could be accumulated.
The essence of the utility model is explained by the following drawings:
Fig. l(a)-(c) represents the device made in accordance with the present utility model;
Fig. 2(a)-(b) represents an embodiment of the clamp;
Fig. 3(a)-(c) depicts the kit in the operative condition and illustrates the method for using thereof.
Fig. l(a) represents the claimed device in the folded condition: two rods 1 consists of telescope nested tubes that are folded and rotated relative to handles 2; clamps 3 are made in the form of frames that are rotated and disposed along the folded rods. Herewith, the handles are partially disposed within the frames. The whole device is a compact penal comfortable for carrying. In order for bringing the device into the operative condition (Fig. l(b)), the clamps 3 are rotated relative to the rods 1 and locked in that position (the locking members are not shown in drawing). The handles 2 are bringing into the operative position. The rods 1 are elongated to the required length. Operating the handles 2 permits for opening and closing the clamps 3 (Fig. l(c)). The lever 4 is rotated around an axle 5. In this case, the handle 2 is the short haul of the lever, and the rod 1 together with the clamp 3 is the long haul of the lever.
At the user's desire, the handle could have various form and length, and could be folded, if necessary. Operating the handles could be performed with one or two hands. It is convenient, for operating with one hand, that the handles have the form of rings (Fig. 1).
The clamps do not bear great mechanical loads, therefore the main requirements to their design are: compactness in the folded condition, easiness and comfort when employing. Fig. 2 represents one of embodiments of the clamps in accordance with the present utility model.
Both clamps 3 are identical one another and represent triangle frames (Fig. 2(a)). Each lateral side of the triangle is defined by two tubes 6 and 7 which are telescope nested one another. The tube 6 having a greater diameter is fixed by one end at a ring 8 having a possibility to slide freely along the rod 1. A
lock 9 ensuring the fixation of the ring 8 at the rod 1 in the required position is also disposed at the ring. Locking the tube 6 at the ring should ensure the tube rotation through some angle in the vertical plane (drawing plane).
A cable thread 10 pulled along through the thin tube 7 and fixed at the lower end of the tube 6 forms the base of the triangle. The lower and top ends of the tube 7 are made roundish in order for ensuring a smooth sliding of the cable thread 10. The total length of the cable thread is defined by the width of the base of the triangle frame and doubled length of the tube 7. A spring 11 ensuring the opening of the tubes 6 and 7 is disposed within the tube 6. The lower end of the rod 1 is typically terminated with a bulb (toe end)
12. On one hand, the bulb 12 ensures the opening (rotation) of the system of the telescope tubes 6 and 7, and, on the other hand, serves for locking the ring 8. The bulb form is determined by its functionality.
A thread 9" could be additionally situated within the tube 6, one end of which thread 9" is fixed to the tube 7, and another end is fixed through the block at the bulb 12. This thread 9" ensures the closing of the tubes 6 and 7 when the ring 8 moves upward along the rod.
In the folded condition (Fig. 2(b)), the frame represents a compact construction. The tubes 7 are retracted into the tubes 6, the total length of the cable thread 10 being taken up by the tension, and the cable thread 10 is placed in the gap between the tubes 6 and 7. For the design reliability, respective grooves for the cable thread could be made at the inner surface of the tube 6 and outer surface of the tube 7. The ring 8 is offset upward along the rod 1 and locked in the end position. The tubes 6 and 7 in this case are folded (due to the tension of the thread 9") and placed along the rod. Bringing the clamp into the operative condition is carried out by simply offsetting the ring 8 into the lower position.
The disclosed device is included into a kit for collecting animal dung, garbage, domestic waste, etc. The kit includes also a disposable packet being put
on the clamps. The packet material should be sufficiently elastic and strong.
Polymer packets are used usually for those purposes.
Fig. 3(a)-(c) represent diagrammatically an example of employing the disclosed kit. First, the device 13 is set into the operative condition, and the packet 14 is put on the clamps 3 (from the outer side of the clamps). When opening the clamps 3, the lower face of the packet 14 forms the stretched membrane which deflects easily inward the clamps by the external action. The device 13 is pressed onto the thing 15 being collected, and the clamps 3 are closed by the handles 2. The thing 15 occurs inside the packet within the clamps. Then the packet 15 is taken off from the clamps, turning it simultaneously inside out (this takes place naturally when giving a pull on the packet edge). The garbage is packed and utilized, and a new packet is put on the clamps for the further use.
It is preferably that the packet 15 comprises an additional pocket, where waste could be accumulated. Then the device could be used several times, and the packet is taken off after filling the pocket.
The claimed utility model is not limited with only the disclosed embodiments, but includes also other design solutions permitting to reach the claimed result.
