This body or shell has at least one sector (16) to accept a battery pack (17) and a power management electronic card (18) to feed the motor (12) of the compressor and so that the battery pack is adjacent to the compressor, preferably parallel to said motor.
Description
"PORTABLE COMPRESSOR GROUP"
****
The present invention concerns in a compressor group in particular to supply compressed air to a liquid nebulisation device, such as a chamber, for aerosol.
The instruments for aerosol are prearranged for the nebulisation of liquids treatment, which is carried out with the help of a flow of air under pressure to a nebulizer nozzle so as to reduce the liquid into minute drops in order to be inhaled. For this, the instruments for aerosol are associated with or however connected to an air compressor group, consisting in a pump powered by a motor and normally enclosed in a body or shell to be housed so as to form a unit which is easy to operate.
At present, aerosol compressor groups are available which can also be portable and to operate they are electrically fed by batteries. According to the current fulfilments, these batteries are placed in at least an additional sector intentionally provided at one or the other end, or on one side, of the body or shell that enclosed the compressor group with the disadvantage however of greatly increasing the dimensions of the unit.
The aim however of this invention is to create the conditions for equipping a portable compressor group which is more compact in size and easy to operate, its efficiency and performance remaining unchanged. Another aim of the invention is however to propose a compressor group for aerosol of the type and for the above use, made by adopting a configuration and a combination of elements so that all the operating and
feeding components of the unit are housed in a body or shell without additional appendixes or protrusions, and consequently with a reduced overall size, limited to being slightly more than sufficient to contain the pump and relative motor. Said aims are reached, according to the invention, with a portable compressor group for aerosol the body of which is configured to receive also a pack of batteries closely alongside the compressor or better the motor of the latter, the batteries being either the rechargeable or the non- rechargeable type, that is to say disposable after use. Greater details will however become more evident in the continuation of the description made in reference to the enclosed indicative and not restrictive drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows, in perspective, a blow-up view of the components of the unit according to the invention; Figs. 2 and 3 show the perspective views from two different directions of the assembled unit in Fig. 1 , but both with a separated head cover;
Fig. 4 shows a view in perspective of the fully assembled unit;
Fig. 5 shows the unit in Fig. 4 from another angle, but with the cover on the semi-open battery side;
Figs. 6, 7 and 8 show respectively, the front views, from above and the side of the unit; and
Fig. 9 shows an internal view of the unit.
Said drawings show a compressor 10 made up of a pump 11 with a relative motor 12 which are basically associated in an L shape and housed
in a body or shell 13 with the interposition of shock absorber devices 12', 23 and 24'. This body 13 made up of two halves or shells, lower 13' and upper 13", combined and fixed to each other, for example, by screws 14.
When assembled, the body 13 delimits internally a first sector 15, basically configured in an L shape to receive both pump and motor of the compressor and a second sector 16 lying alongside the first sector 15, preferably alongside the motor 12.
In the second sector 16 a battery pack 17 is housed for the electric feed of the motor 12 of the compressor under the control of an electronic card 18 placed in a relative housing 16'.
The body 13 is completed at its head ends respectively by a first cover 19 designed to hold the battery pack 17 in the respective sector 16 and by a second cover 20 that delimits an air input passage towards a suction hole 21 of the pump. A filter 22 is fitted to said hole 21. On one side of the body or shell 13 are provided an output pipe fitting 24 of the compressed air to a nebulizer device, such as a nebulizer chamber -not shown- a switch 25 to switch the unit on and off and a luminous signaller 26 indicating the operating state. The nebulizer instrument, that is the nebulizer chamber, can be connected directly or by means of a tube to said pipe fitting 24.
On the opposite side of the body or shell is provided a protrusion 27 for resting the nebulizer chamber on when it is replaced.
The feed batteries 17 will preferably be lithium and the rechargeable type using a connection to a battery charger. This however does not
exclude the possibility of using non chargeable batteries which can be inserted in the same sector.
Practically, and as can be seen in the diagrams, the battery pack is however placed directly in the body or shell, within a perimeter that contains the compressor, the dimensions of the sides of which are basically the same as those of the L shaped combination of the pump and motor of the compressor as can be clearly seen in particular in Fig. 9.
