- the outer drum member 22 may have a central portion 22c defined between the outer mlet and outlet ends 22a, 22b, whereat at least one outer outlet passage (or opening) 42 may be defined.
- Each of the inner and outer outlet passages 40, 42 may extend radially outward through the inner and outer drum member 20, 22, respectively. It will be appreciated that the inner and outer outlet passages 40 and 42 may also, as shown, extend to an extent in the axial direction as desired to maximize efficiency.
- the inner outlet passage 40 may be in fluid communication with the first and second flow passages 16, 30 and may be configured to discharge liquid out of the first flow passage 16 and into the second flow passage 30. Further, the liquid outlet passage 42 of the outer drum member 22 may be configured to discharge liquid through the outer drum member 22, away from the rotary separator 12, and to, for example, a static separator 100, which will be described m additional detail below.

As desc ⁇ bed above with reference to Figure 2, the outer drum member 22 may also be angled to draw the separated liquid L toward the outer outlet passage 42 The separated liquid L, which may be combined with any liquid L separated by the inner drum member 20 and discharged through the inner outlet passage 40, may then be discharged from the second flow passage 16 through the outer outlet passage 42
- the outer drum member 22 may be configured to direct the separated liquid L radially out of the drum 10, and toward the static separator 100, as mentioned above with reference to Figure 1, but may alternatively direct the separated liquid L directly to a separate collector (not shown).
- each of the above drum constructions has been described as configured to direct liquid L toward the radial and axial center of each of the inner and outer drum members 20 or 22, so as to be thereafter discharged through outlet passages 40, 42 (which may be inner and outer outlet openings 70, 72, as desc ⁇ bed), each of the inner and/or outer drum members 20 and/or 22 may alternatively be formed so as to direct liquid L toward either of the inner and outer inlets 32, 34, respectively, and/or the inner and outer outlets 36, 38, respectively.
