[Mode for invention]
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be
described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the overall arrangement of a ZigBee- based wireless security system including an intrusion detection apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 2 is a block diagram of the intrusion detection apparatus according to the embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to Figs. 1 and 2, the intrusion detection apparatus is installed within a security zone into which an intruder is suspected to enter. The apparatus includes an intrusion detection module 10 detecting movement of an object, and a main unit 20 transmitting intrusion information to a telephone 1 and a mobile communication terminal 3 using an SMS message and a voice message when the intrusion detection module 10 detects any intrusion attempt. The intrusion detection module 10 and the main unit 20 are interconnected through a communication cable 30. Here, the main unit 20 is provided at any indoor place and the intrusion detection module 10 is placed on a table 5 or a window frame so that the intrusion detection module 10 cannot be easily recognized as an intrusion monitoring device. The intrusion detection module 10 is configured to allow adjustment of location and direction thereof.
In this embodiment, the intrusion detection module 10 is placed on the table 5 or the window frame in order to prevent the intrusion detection module 10 from being easily recognized as an intrusion monitoring device by an intruder.
The intrusion detection apparatus further includes a holder 40 which holds the intrusion detection module 10 to prevent movement of the intrusion detection module 10 during installation thereof. The holder 40 is formed with a groove 41, into which a lower end of the intrusion detection module 10 is securely inserted. The intrusion detection module 10 includes a detection sensor 11 detecting an intrusion attempt, a signal processor 13 converting a signal from the sensor 11 into digital data, and a first communication port 15 connected to the communication cable 30 to transmit the digital data to the main unit 20.
Examples of the sensor 11 include a motion sensor detecting movement, an infrared sensor detecting heat, and an impact sensor detecting impact. The sensor 11 may be any one of the motion sensor, the infrared sensor and the impact sensor, or may comprise all of these sensors to effectively detect any intrusion attempt. The sensor 11 may comprise the motion sensor and the infrared sensor. The sensor 11 generates an analog signal upon detection of intrusion, and sends the analog signal to the signal processor 13.
After receiving the analog signal from the detection sensor 11, the signal processor 13 converts the analog signal into digital data through amplification and filtering, and transmits the digital data to the main unit 20 through the first communication port 15 and the communication cable 30.
When receiving the digital data, the main unit 20 transmits intrusion information as an SMS message and a voice message to the telephone 1 and the mobile communication terminal 3, which are provided to guardrooms or security companies and can receive SMS messages.
The main unit 20 includes a second communication port 21 to which the communication cable 30 is connected to receive the signal from the intrusion detection module 10, a controller 23, an input unit 25, a storage 27, an alarm generator 28, and an SMS unit 29. The main unit 20 may include one or more second communication ports 21 for connection with a plurality of intrusion detection modules 10.
When receiving the signal from the intrusion detection module 10, the controller 23 controls the alarm generator 28 to generate an alarm and controls the SMS unit 29 to transmit the intrusion information to the telephone 1 and the mobile communication terminal 3 using an SMS and a voice message. The controller 23 also stores information about detection time and date in the storage 27 when receiving the signal from the intrusion detection module 10.
The input unit 25 is configured to receive input of phone numbers of the telephone 1 and the mobile communication terminal 3. The phone numbers are stored in the storage 27.
The alarm generator 28 generates an audible alarm under control of the controller 23 when the signal is input to the controller 23. The SMS unit 29 transmits the SMS message and the voice message to the telephone 1 and the mobile communication terminal 3 under control of the controller 23 when the signal is input to the controller 23.
When the intrusion detection module 10 stops operating due to impact or electric discharge, or the communication cable 30 is disconnected or broken, the controller 23 transmits failure information to the telephone 1 and the mobile communication terminal 3 using an SMS message and a voice message.
Although the main unit 20 is illustrated as being connected to a single intrusion module 10 in this embodiment, the main unit 20 may be connected to plural intrusion detection modules 10 through a router or the plural communication ports to which the communication cables 30 can be connected.
Next, operation of the intrusion detection apparatus according to the embodiment of the invention will be described.
When the sensor 11 of the intrusion detection module 10 installed indoors detects any movement, an intrusion signal is input to the controller 23 of the main unit 20 through the communication cable 30. Then, the controller 23 controls the alarm generator 28 to generate an alarm, and controls the SMS unit 29 to transmit an SMS message and a voice message to the telephone 1 and the mobile communication terminal 3 corresponding to preset phone numbers.
