Abstract

The present invention discloses a PMO LED driving circuit and a driving method, which reduce the size of a drive current to reduce power consumption and lengthen the life of a PMO LED. The PMO LED includes a PWM computing device and a line driver. The PWM computing device calculates a scale factor by using the present frame data, and computes a variable current quantity of a variable current source and a correction unit connection time used for switching the variable current source by using the scale factor. The line driver processes information on the horizontal line and the vertical line of a panel contained in the frame data in response to the variable current quantity and the correction unit connection time to drive the panel. The line driver bunches two horizontal lines of the panel into one and drives the panel in three steps. The method for driving a PMO LED includes a scale factor computing step, a variable current quantity and correction unit connection time computing step, and a PMO LED driving step.
