Brief description of the invention
The object of the invention is to provide a new type of method and arrangement for visually presenting an aiming image by a visual presentation after hunting, hunting practice, shooting practice or the like. The object of the invention is achieved by a method for visually presenting an aiming image by a visual presentation after hunting, hunting practice, shooting practice or the like according to independent claim 1.
The preferred embodiments of the method according to the invention are described in dependent claims 2-13. The invention also relates to an arrangement for visually presenting an aiming image by a visual presentation after hunting, hunting practice, shooting practice or the like according to independent claim 14.
The preferred embodiments of the arrangement according to the invention are described in dependent claims 15-24. In one preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention, a camera gun is used, which can be in a form resembling a gun, but with which it is not possible to shoot in the manner of a normal gun.
The arrangement according to the invention enables safer hunting, because the real hunting situation can be practised by the arrangement according to the invention without firing a shot.
The arrangement according to the invention enables a type of ethically sound hunting form, because, by the arrangement according to the invention, it is possible to hunt without shooting the object.
The arrangement according to the invention enables year-round hunting, wherein hunting experience accumulates and both dangerous and poor shots decrease.
The arrangement according to the invention enables the experience connected to hunting for persons, for whom real hunting is not possible, either because of a lack of hunting rights or because they want an alternative to traditional hunting.
The arrangement according to the invention can further be used by military and police officials in different types of practical training situations as well as in different types of experience simulation games, in which war situations are simulated, such as in paintball war games.
The arrangement according to the invention can further be used in different types of competitive activities taking place on shooting ranges or on the terrain. For example, in competition activity, the arrangement according to the invention enables monitoring in real time provided that a real-time connection is arranged between the information system and the camera gun or real gun equipped with a camera. This kind
of real-time connection can also be a type that enables remote control of the camera gun, for example, in different types of practice situations.
The information system can be in the form of a computer and a computer program downloaded therein. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the information system is connected to an information network, i.e. for example, to the Internet. By the information network, it is possible, in this connection, to mean also other data transfer solutions between devices, for example, a USB bus. In this manner, hunting enthusiasts can be connected to the information system via the information network and hunting enthusiasts can be in contact with one another via the information network and the information system connected to it. If the information system is connected to the information network, the opportunity opens up for hunting enthusiasts to comment on one another's shots and prey.
In one preferred embodiment of the invention, before the hunting event, a number of virtual cartridges are stored from the information system to the camera gun or camera. The number can represent the number of cartridges to be taken along on the hunting event. In the method, the number of hunting images to be taken can be limited to the number of virtual cartridges and thus to limit the number of images to be transferred into the information system, such as, for example, into a server connected to the Internet.
List of figures
In the following, preferred embodiments of the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying figures, of which
Fig. 1 is a principle image of a first embodiment of the invention, and Fig. 2 is a principle image of a second embodiment of the invention.
Detailed description of the invention
The invention relates primarily to a method for visually presenting an aiming image by a visual presentation after hunting, hunting practice, shooting practice or the like. Fig. 1 is a principle image of a first embodiment of the invention and Fig. 2 is a principle image of a second embodiment of the invention.
In the method, an information system 1 is used, which comprises receiving means (not marked with a reference number) for receiving aiming images (not shown in Fig.) in digital form taken by several different camera guns 4 or a real guns 3 equipped with a camera 2.
In the method can be used a camera gun 4, which can be a device resembling a gun but which is, however, incapable of shooting real cartridges, i.e. a device, which is intended solely for producing digital images representing aiming. The camera gun 4 can be adapted to produce a sound and/or recoil effect, when it is fired. In the method can, however, also be used a real and functional gun 3, to which is fitted a camera 2.
Each aiming image contains additional information in addition to the visual presentation presenting the aiming image. The additional information comprises at least a visual presentation about the aiming point 5, at which the shooter has aimed, when the aiming image was taken. The aiming point 5 can be, for example, in the form of an aiming grid, as is shown in the figure.
The aiming point 5 can, for example, be located on a game animal, a practise target or a target. The visual presentation presenting the aiming point 5 further presents preferably, but not necessarily, areas outside the aiming point 5, such as, for example, an entire game animal, an entire practise target or an entire target. The method comprises a reception step, in which said aiming image is received by the receiving means of the information system 1.
The method comprises an information processing step, in which the aiming image and the additional information contained in the aiming image are processed to produce a visual presentation 6 from the aiming image and the additional information. The method comprises a presentation step, in which said visual presentation 6 is presented by the presentation means of the information system 1.
The method comprises preferably, but not necessarily, a step, in which the aiming image with its additional information and/or the produced visual presentation is stored in the storage means of the information system 1. The presentation step comprises preferably, but not necessarily, a step, in which the visual presentation with its additional information is brought from the storage means of the information system 1.
The method comprises preferably, but not necessarily, an identification step, in which the identification information 7 of the shooter is registered in the information system 1. In this case, the method comprises a step, in which the identification information 7 of the shooter is transferred from the information system 1 into a camera gun 4 or camera 2. In this case, the method comprises a step, in which to the aiming image is added the additional information, which comprises identification information of the shooter. In this case, the reception step contains a step, in which the aiming image provided with the identification information of the shooter is received by the information system 1.
The method comprises preferably, but not necessarily, a loading step, in which a number of virtual cartridges are stored from the information system 1 to a camera gun 4
or camera 2. The number can represent the number of cartridges taken along on the hunting event. In the method, the number of hunting images to be taken can be limited to the number of virtual cartridges and thus limit the number of images to be transferred into the information system 1, such as, for example, into a server 12 connected to the Internet.
If the method comprises above-said loading step, each virtual cartridge loaded in the loading step from the information system 1 to the camera gun 4 or camera 2 creates preferably, but not necessarily, one free memory location in the camera gun 4 or camera 2, in which an aiming image can be stored. By the memory location is generally meant an adequate amount of free memory, in which a single image can be stored.
Information representing the number of virtual cartridges can be used to limit the number of aiming images to be taken or to categorize aiming images into at least two different categories. In one embodiment, in the information system 1 is stored in the loading step information regarding at least how many shots (aiming images) may be fired during the planned hunting trip by the camera gun 4 or camera 2. This information can preferably, but not necessarily, be transferred from the information system 1 into the camera gun 4 or camera 2. The camera gun 4 or camera 2 can be adapted to take an aiming image only if all virtual cartridges have not yet been used. In one embodiment, the camera gun 4 or camera 2 can be adapted, if shot after the virtual cartridges have run out, to take "blank shot" images, to which is attached the information about the virtual cartridges having run out. hi one embodiment, the camera gun 4 or camera 2 takes an image of each shot and the information regarding possible blank shots is added to the images only, when the images are transferred into the information system 1. If the method comprises above-said loading step, from the information system 1 is further preferably, but not necessarily, loaded in the downloading step the cartridge information 8 regarding the calibre of the virtual cartridge to the camera gun 4 or camera 2. In this case, the cartridge information 8 is added to the aiming image as additional information, for example, in the form 6,5 x 55/10.0 g and the reception step contains a step, in which an aiming image provided with the additional information regarding the virtual cartridge in the form of the cartridge information 8 is received by the information system 1. If the method comprises such a loading step, in which the cartridge information 8 regarding the calibre of the virtual cartridge is downloaded from the information system 1 to the camera gun 4 or camera 2, the camera gun 4 can be adapted to trace the trajectory of a corresponding real gunpowder cartridge, when an aiming image is taken by the camera gun 4 or camera 2. If the method comprises such a loading step, in which the cartridge information 8 regarding the calibre of the virtual cartridge is downloaded from the information system 1 to the camera gun 4 or camera 2, it is also possible, as in real hunting, to make sure that the hunter has used "a gun of
the right calibre" while hunting. In this connection, by the cartridge information is meant, for example, the weight, calibre and/or structural characteristics of the cartridge. In a real hunting situation - as also in this virtual hunting, the hunter must take into consideration that a cartridge must be of the right type in regard to the prey being hunted. When hunting game animals, the weight, calibre and structural characteristics of the cartridge must meet the characteristic requirements set by the officials monitoring hunting activities.
If the method comprises above-said loading step, from the information system 1 is further preferably, but not necessarily, added the prey information 9 regarding what the shooter intends to hunt. In this case, said prey information 9 is added to the aiming image as additional information, and the reception step contains a step, in which the aiming image provided with said prey information 9 is received by the information system 1.
In the method, to the aiming image is preferably, but not necessarily, added as additional information the point of time 10, when the aiming image is taken, wherein the reception step contains a step, in which the aiming image provided with said point of time 10 is received by the information system 1. The point of time 10 is preferably, but not necessarily, added at least with precision to the second, more preferably at least with precision to the tenth of a second or with precision to the hundredth of a second or one-thousandth of a second.
The method comprises preferably, but not necessarily, a synchronization step for temporally synchronizing the clocks of the cameras of the guns of the system and/or the clocks of the gun-cameras of the system with one another. The synchronization arrangement can be, for example, adapted to function such that the clock of a camera or gun-camera is set in conjunction with the downloading step. Synchronization can be an important matter, for example, in police or military practices or in war games in order that the practical training or game leader can monitor events and the point of time, at which shots were fired.
In the method, the information system 1 is preferably, but not necessarily, connected to an information network 11 such as, for example, the Internet such that the information system 1 is adapted to receive aiming images taken by several different camera guns 4 or real guns 3 equipped with a camera 2 via the information network 11 , and such that the presentation means of the information system 1 are adapted to produce visual presentations, which can be presented via the information network 1 1. In Fig. 2 is shown an arrangement, in which is used an information network 11 that comprises a server.
The invention also relates to an arrangement for visually presenting an aiming image by a visual presentation after hunting, hunting practice, shooting practice or the like.
The arrangement comprises an information system 1, which comprises data transfer means for receiving aiming images in digital form taken by several different camera guns 4 or real guns 3 equipped with a camera 2, wherein each aiming image contains additional information in addition to the visual presentation presenting the aiming point 5. The additional information comprises at least the visual presentation about the aiming point 5, at which the shooter has aimed, when the aiming image was taken.
In the arrangement, a camera gun 4 can be used, which can be a device resembling gun, but which is, however, incapable of shooting real cartridges, i.e. a device, which is intended solely for producing digital images representing aiming. The camera gun 4 can be adapted to produce a sound and/or recoil effect, when it is fired. In the arrangement can, however, also be used a real and functional gun 3, to which is fitted a camera 2.
The data transfer means can function wirelessly or by wires. It is possible, for example, that the camera gun 4 or camera 2 has a removable memory card, which can be fit into a memory card reader functionally connected to the information system 1. It is also possible that the camera gun 4 or camera 2 has a USB port, by using which a wired connection can be established between the camera gun 4 or camera 2 and the information system 1.
The arrangement, preferably the information system 1, further comprises information processing means for processing the aiming images and the additional information contained in the aiming images to produce visual presentations from the aiming images and said additional information.
The information system 1 further comprises presentation means for visually presenting said visual presentations.
The information system 1 comprises preferably, but not necessarily, storage means for storing in the information system 1 the aiming images with their additional information and/or for storing in the information system 1 the visual presentations produced by the information processing means.
The information system 1 comprises preferably, but not necessarily, registration means for registering the identification information 7 of the shooter in the information system 1, wherein the data transfer means can be adapted to transfer the identification information 7 of the shooter from the information system 1 into the camera gun 4 or camera 2, wherein the camera gun 4 or camera 2 is adapted to add said identification information 7 of the shooter to the aiming image in the form of additional information.
The information system 1 comprises preferably, but not necessarily, loading means for loading virtual cartridges from the information system 1 to the camera gun 4 or camera 2 in order to limit the number of aiming images to be taken from the information system 1 or to categorize the aiming images into at least two different categories.
If the information system 1 comprises above-said loading means, each virtual cartridge downloaded in said loading step from the information system 1 to the camera gun 4 or camera 2 is preferably, but not necessarily, adapted to create or reserve in the camera gun 4 or camera 2 one free memory location, in which the aiming image can be stored.
If the information system 1 comprises above-said loading means, the data transfer means are preferably, but not necessarily, further adapted to transfer in the loading step the cartridge information 8 regarding the calibre of the virtual cartridge from the information system 1 into the camera gun 4 or camera 2, and the camera gun 4 or camera 2 is adapted to add said cartridge information 8 to the aiming image as additional information. In this case, the data transfer means can be further adapted to transfer in the loading step the trajectory information of the cartridge dependent on the cartridge information 8 or the like from the information system 1 into the camera gun 4 or camera 2, wherein the trajectory information of the cartridge dependent on the cartridge information 8 or the like is adapted, at the stage when the aiming image is taken, to give to the virtual cartridge a virtual trajectory dependent on the cartridge information 8. The trajectory information of the cartridge can be, for example, a computer program that is run while the aiming image is taken.
The information system 1 comprises preferably, but not necessarily, receiving means for receiving the prey information 9. In this case, the data transfer means are adapted to transfer in the downloading step said prey information 9 from the information system 1 into the camera gun 4 or camera 2, and the camera gun 4 or camera 2 is adapted to attach said prey information 9 to the aiming image in the form of additional information. The camera gun 4 or camera 2 is preferably, but not necessarily, adapted to add the point of time 10, when the aiming image was taken, to the aiming image in the form of additional information. The point of time 10 is preferably, but not necessarily, added at least with precision to the second, more preferably at least with precision to tenth of a second or hundredth of a second or one-thousandth of a second. The system comprises preferably, but not necessarily, a synchronization arrangement for temporally synchronizing the clocks of the cameras of the guns of the system and/or of the gun-cameras of the system with one another. The synchronization arrangement can be, for example, adapted to function such that the clock of a gun-
camera or camera is set in conjunction with the downloading step. Synchronization can be an important matter, for example, in police or military practical training or in war games in order that the practical training or game leader can monitor events and the point of time, at which shots were fired. The information system 1 is preferably, but not necessarily, connected to an information network 11 (for example, the Internet) such that the information system 1 is adapted to receive aiming images taken by several different camera guns 4 or real guns 3 equipped with a camera 2 via the information network 1 1 , and such that the presentation means of the information system 1 are adapted to produce visual presentations, which can be presented via the information network 1 1.
In one preferred embodiment, the information system 1 comprises a server 12, which can be connected to the information network 11 such that the camera gun 4 or camera 2 can be connected in the downloading step to the server 12 of the information system 1 via the information network 11 for downloading virtual cartridges to the camera gun 4 or camera 2. In this preferred embodiment, the downloading means are located in the server 12 of the information system 1 such that the virtual cartridges are brought from the server 12 of the information system 1 to the camera gun 4 or camera 2 via the information network 11.
It is obvious to a person skilled in the art that, as technology develops, the basic idea of the invention can be implemented in many different ways. The invention and its embodiments are thus not limited only to the examples presented in the above, rather many variations are possible within the scope of claims.
