Abstract

The invention relates to a data transmission system having positioning, identification and measuring functions for underground cables or cable connections, particularly cable sleeves, comprising at least one transmitter unit and a receiver unit, wherein the receiver unit comprises a receiver transmitter, which for the activation of a defined transmitter unit emits a signal, which activates the transmitter unit for transmitting the data. The data transmission system is characterized in that the transmitter unit (10) is connected to an electrical cable line (36) and that the transmitter unit (10) transmits the physical parameters measured at the electrical cable line (36) as modulated high-frequency signals to the receiver unit (40).
