Abstract

The present invention relates to an artificial wood production method in which a simple arrangement is employed to allow efficient continuous extrusion of artificial wood which is formed from a composite material comprising an outer layer and an inner layer and in which filaments are disposed continuously in the length direction in the inner layer. The present invention also relates to an artificial wood produced by this artificial wood production method. In the artificial wood production method according to the present invention, artificial wood is produced which comprises: an outer layer formed by mixing a wood fraction with an artificial resin; an inner layer formed integrally with the outer layer by means of co-extrusion; and a filament tow disposed continuously in the length direction in the inner layer. A characterising feature of the present invention is that the filament tow is disposed continuously in the length direction in the inner layer by being introduced, into the mould for forming the inner layer, through a filament-introduction pipe obtained by the integral formation of an inclined part, which is disposed at an incline from the outside of the mould towards the front inside the mould, and introduction guide parts, which are disposed in parallel inside the mould.
