Abstract
The invention relates to a novel form of wave energy conversion in which a suitable installation that is located in the immediate influx region of the waves, i.e. in the immediate vicinity of the water/shore, absorbs the force of the waves in continuous motion and converts said force into another force. Said force can then be used for all force conversion units. The aim of the invention is to develop a device which can optimise the use of the energy contained in the waves in the shore region or rivers. According to the invention, one or more wave impeller wheels are mounted horizontally in a frame in a height-adjustable steel construction that is situated in the water, the discontinuous rotation of said wheels being converted by gears into a continuous rotation. The distance between the wave impeller wheels is dimensioned according to the average frequency of the wave.
