Abstract

La présente invention concerne des procédés de génération de chaleur souterraine pour le traitement d’une formation contenant des hydrocarbures. Les procédés comprennent la fourniture d’eau à travers un ou des trous de forage à au moins une partie de la formation contenant des hydrocarbures et la combustion d’au moins une partie d’un flux de combustible comportant du sulfure d’hydrogène en présence d’une source d’oxygène dans un ou des réchauffeurs disposés dans un des trous de forage pour produire un flux de produits secondaires de combustion. La chaleur dérivée de la combustion est transférée vers une partie de la formation contenant des hydrocarbures. Le flux de produits secondaires de combustion comprend un ou des oxydes de soufre. La chaleur de solution est libérée par la mise en contact d’au moins une partie du flux de produits secondaires de combustion avec une partie de l’eau et/ou une partie de l’eau dans la formation contenant des hydrocarbures.
