Abstract

A computer-readable storage medium, apparatus, and method for processing image data corresponding to a microarray image is provided. The method includes storing an array definition file including description parameters of a grid, the description parameters including an array packing type of blocks in the grid, performing grid analysis to determine an expected number of rows and an expected number of columns of the blocks included. The method further includes using a mask image to compare initial expected areas of interest with the initial areas of interest to match the location of at least one of the initial expected areas of interest with one of the initial areas of interest, and to perform grid overlay by laying the grid on top of the microarray image based on the at least one matched area of interest.
