Description

TURKISH BATH CONTROL COLUMN
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a Turkish bath control column.
More specifically, the present invention relates to a Turkish bath control column of the type comprising a casing in the form of an elongated box body bounded by at least one user-accessible wall; and a steam generator housed inside the box body.
BACKGROUND ART
Operation of the steam generator and any auxiliary devices in the control column, such as taps or showers, is normally controlled selectively by respective actuators housed inside the box body, extending through said wall, and equipped with respective control knobs.
Known Turkish bath control columns of the type described have various drawbacks, mainly due to installation of the actuators requiring openings in said wall, and fluidtight fitting of the actuators to the openings .
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a Turkish bath control column designed to eliminate the above drawbacks, and which is also cheap and easy to produce .
According to the present invention, there is provided a Turkish bath control column as claimed in the accompanying Claims .
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
A non-limiting embodiment of the present invention will be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a schematic, exploded view in perspective of a preferred embodiment of the Turkish bath control column according to the present invention;
Figure 2 shows a schematic view of the Figure 1 control column as installed in a Turkish bath;
Figure 3 shows, schematically, operation of the Figure 1 control column.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Number 1 in Figures 1 and 2 indicates as a whole a control column for installation in a Turkish bath 2 comprising a masonry structure 3 bounded internally by a wall 4 having an elongated, substantially rectangular cavity 5, which opens outwards of wall 4, is bounded by two parallel, substantially vertical lateral walls 6 (only one shown in Figure 2) and by a substantially horizontal bottom wall 7a and top wall 7b, both perpendicular to walls 6, and houses control column 1.
Control column 1 comprises a casing in the form of a box body 8, which is defined by an elongated rectangular metal section, extends in a substantially vertical direction 9, is fixed inside cavity 5, at a given distance from each of lateral walls 6, is open at the bottom in direction 9, and has two substantially rectangular openings 10, 11 formed through box body 8 itself.
Box body 8 houses a steam generator 12; a diffuser
13 connected to generator 12 and having a first operating mode, in which diffuser 13 diffuses the steam generated by generator 12 inside Turkish bath 2, and a second operating mode, in which diffuser 13 heats and circulates the air inside Turkish bath 2; a light source
14 fitted inside opening 10 and having a number of different-coloured LEDs (not shown) ; a touch-screen control panel 15 fitted inside opening 11; and an electronic board 16 that cooperates with panel 15.
As shown in Figure 3, panel 15 comprises a lighted button 17 to turn on control column 1; a lighted button 18 to activate generator 12 and the first operating mode of diffuser 13; a lighted button 19 to activate the second operating mode of diffuser 13; a lighted button 20 to activate light source 14 to emit white light; a lighted button 21 to activate light source 14 to emit coloured light, and to control the operating sequence of the LEDs (not shown) ; and a number of lighted buttons 22 for selectively controlling the temperature inside Turkish bath 2.
Each button 17-22 has at least two brightness levels, i.e. a relatively dim level when button 17-22 is off, and a relatively bright level when button 17-22 is on.
Control column 1 also comprises a rectangular glass panel 23, which is substantially the same shape as box body 8, is fitted to box body 8 facing openings 10 and
11, faces inwards of Turkish bath 2 for access by the user, and provides for selectively controlling activation and deactivation of buttons 17-22 on the basis of the variation in electrical capacitance detected when the user's finger contacts panel 23.
In actual use, button 17 is always illuminated
(Figure 3a) and is activated by the user to light (Figure 3b) or black out (Figure 3a) buttons 18-22, and light source 14 is only visible when activated by button
20 and/or 21.
Touch-screen control panel 15 and glass panel 23 enable waterproof, insulated operation of buttons 17-22 in the wet, damp environment of Turkish bath 2, and provide for an extremely attractive look of control column 1.
In a variation not shown, button 17 is eliminated, and buttons 18-22 are turned on and off by a device for detecting the presence of a user inside Turkish bath 2.
