Abstract
Apparatus is provided for monitoring a physical parameter of a plurality of inner conduits for use in the oil or gas industry, the physical parameters being selected from the group consisting strain, temperature, pressure, vibration, acceleration, inclination, flow or corrosion of said inner conduits being eccentrically housed within a tubular housing, the apparatus comprising at least one sensor carrier located in the space between the inner conduits and the tubular housing, the sensor carrier having at least one optical fibre sensor means, and the sensor carrier being proximate the inner housing. The present invention also relates to complex pipe preferably of a flexible type having the monitoring apparatus embedded on at least one inner conduit of the complex pipe.
